That kinda thing tends to linger for some time, it sure aint good for insurance :slap:
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. I believe that was Mr. Glen Quagmire from Family Guy.

Some years ago I saw some ferocious looking old woman pick up a young guy and take him to a carpark at the Auckland Domain. I hope he liked them grizzly 'cause it looked God awful from my point of view.

Firstly, contact your local WINZ. When I arrived here, they teed me up a job working in a restaurant. It sucked, but it paid the rent and I got free food.

Then tidy up your CV, and go door-to-door around where you live trying to find work and handing them out, or collecting contact details of people you can email a CV to.

Then look at what you'd like to do (eg: working on bikes) and find places you could do that, figure out if it's realistic to get a job there (location, cost to travel etc), and start applying.

For very ten jobs you apply for you will get one call back.

For every five interviews, you will get one job offer worth taking.

Those stats were told to me by a recruitment agency, and they seem to be a good conservative estimate. Usually I get jobs by word of mouth now so I don't apply often or have many interviews.

    Good luck though.

actually i find this very true....

skid... if you want to ask for jobs on here, best thing is to keep them for at LEAST 6mths to a year... bad rep in these matters usually ends up in no one wanting to give you a job...
