To the biker doing a runner from the cops thru Wellsford this morning

Hey T, this is to his favour. Plead that a conviction would cause undue punishment (I forget the technical term) because of his plans and he's likely to get off. I've seen dickheads cause multi car pileups and get off because it would bar them from getting into the Police in the past.

This logic really annoys me. Isn't the effect of the punishment there for the very reason that you're suggesting he get off because of?

On possibly a different scale, murderers shouldn't be convicted because it might ruin their plans? Right..

Yep, annoys the shit out of me too. But thats life, and you look after your own.

When I was young and stupid the cops didn't prosecute, they rang your folks or worse they dropped you off at home and had a word. Because back then, they knew your folks stood a chance, and had a right to first dibs on you. If you kept fucking up then that was a different story.
