2008? Surely it's still under warranty? Get the dealer to sort it.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

It's a warranty issue, don't go fiddling with anything just take it back to the dealer you brought it from.

There's a variety of things that could be the cause, but we had one brought from us that was doing exactly what your mentioning but it would only come apparent after 15-20kms of riding and was a fuel/carb fault. All fixed under warranty.

Warranty. Don't mess with it. See the dealer. They don't like you to 'fuck it up'.
    And I don't normally swear.

    Don't mess with it!!!

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

It's the CDI unit retarding the timing to pass Euro 3 emissions standards.
There's plenty of info on here about it, just search.

Regardless of it being an easy mod or not - if the bike is under warranty going cutting wires COULD void any warrranty claims you need to make later on.

Get it sorted properly - take it to the dealer and let them do it.

Else do the mod at your own risk and take your chances.

You don't need to cut wires. Use a jewelers screwdriver or a sliver of wood to release the pin from the housing, and just slide it out and tape it back securely.

I could go pull the seat off and untape it and tell you which wire, but it would be quicker for him to google it.

Just get it sorted when you get the bike serviced. Saves a special trip and is potentially less expensive as they are working on the bike anyway (tho is likely to be free in either case)

So was the engine actually missing, or was it just suffering from the usual hyosung "flat spot" problem?
Mine hade the flat spot thing untill I removed the wire.
It now accelerates constantly and smoothly throughout the rev range, but will still sometimes miss at around 6000rpm.
Anyone else got a similar issue?
