Angry PREFU: 10 years of deficits

This news should warm the election campaign up a treat.

A good analysis here from somebody who was in today's lock up.

Good summary of both the numbers and the political situation.
Perhaps that supercilious prick Cullen will not be so smug now...

Ok, do a new thread then if you want - I just stuffed my rant at the end of the Douche Clark thread...

Loads of analysis out there, but I like this bit best:

That's not analysis, it's just reporting.

When I see believable models showing how Government policies influenced the economy toward its current state, or reasonable ideas about policies which would influence it toward a more desirable one in the future, then I shall perk up and take note.

IMHO, politics as it relates to the economy is almost always such an over-generalised mess of platitudes and fallacies that it's barely worth considering.

Wasn't John Key talking about spending north of $300M (before accounting for 'cultural consulting' obviously) on a new prison to lock up the bad bastards for ever? How are we going to afford that now? Bring back the death penalty?

    Oh, hang on...

FTA: "The deficit is forecast to be $31 million this year and up to $3.2 billion in 2012/13"

It's unbelievable to think our entire countries deficit is going to be less than 5% of the bailout package recently approved in the US.

The figures are staggeringly small, really. Certainly not good, but that puts a perspective on how fucked the world economy is.

The cheshire cat has recently spent every last penny, on his trainset and treaty settlements galore.
His ineptitude in finance is remarkable. "We're deeply in the black, oops, no - we are a few billion in the red... , Oops we are really in the black - treasury got it wrong".

It honestly looks like a deliberate attempt to sabotage the country, since they know that Liarbour are fucked.

Apparently the sabotage that goes on at the White House during a change of power is ridiculous, child like & even to the point of costing the American tax payer a reasonable amount of $$$

So is it really any wonder?

To call them human would be stretching it
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

If you saw the story on Close Up tonight you would have seen Bill English kind of squirm and certainly have less answers than Cullen had.

I'm not surprised that Key and English have been squirmy today. They have until Wednesday to run the PREFU numbers and see how that affects what they were planning to announce about tax and economic policy. While they were expecting an economic downturn, I get the impression that they weren't prepared for the magnitude of the looming shit forecast by The Treasury.

It must be hard trying to maintain an air of confidence knowing that the economy, to the nearest significant figure, is fucked.

Since one of Cullen's so called answers earlier contained a pathetic and childish attempt to make the the former Merchant Banker John Key somehow connected to, and responsible for the recent problems in World Financial Markets, I'll vote squirm...

And on reflection, Cullen's answers are not surprising.

Yep, once again the National party will be inheriting a poisoned chalice off an outgoing Labour / Failure Government. They are both historically to blame but the neo-communist dictatorship has certainly rapidly accelerated wasteful spending, mostly in a long standing and very planned effort to try and enhance their re-election. Many many people in this country have been brainwashed into believing that socialism is the only way and that people with conservative philosophy are very wrong.
More than ever I look forward to the self satisfied smirk disappearing off Cullens face on election night.

The tax cuts are possibly more vital than ever, between the tunnel cunted whore & her mates & the reserve banker wanker they have managed to throttle the life out of our economy to the point where it has stalled, they need to get it kick started again & bloody fast because a tidal wave is on its way
The Prefu was done before the overseas shit fight started, it is likely to get worse before it gets better.
