who went then, how'd you find it? Lost count of how many times I crashed trying to get round people including a nice cuddle with a tree. Them roots, and stumps catch you out when your behind someone waiting for a chance to pass. Nice loop though.

I hear that ricks bike had a bit of a mishap with a tree that caused some pretty bad damage. Rick - I got my radiator fixed in newmarket, but it cost about $100 to fix. might be able to get one off eBay.

Should have had some more sugar!

Was hoping to get out there perhaps for a ride or at least to support but been feeling like I've been fighting a cold off the last few days and feeling a bit unenergetic.
I heard Jake Wightman came in first in class and first 65 home and had no crashes. His Dad told me that he told Jake that if he won he would take him to the rest of the rounds. Dads wrapped on both counts and is looking forward to Jake hopefully winning a cap!
Haven't heard from Karl Power after his first race on the 450 but that might be because he had to get ready after for the Rut 100 today. Anyone know how he did?

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

I'm pretty sure his rad is fine. he bent his pipe so it was touching the rad pipe and burnt a hole in it. But only noticed when it started to make a funny sound. I'm sure he'll fill us in at some point.

Anyone know who was riding the white yzf450 that tried to kill me off the start line????

Here's an edited copy of a PM I just sent to Rupe on my first ever enduro race experiance. Pretty much sums it up!!

To be honest mate I'm still fucking gutted at my lack of skill and ability. Anything wrong with the bike was induced by my pathetic riding. I'm not sure I'll do anymore rounds until I have practiced heaps more. I think I'll have to stop riding within my ability (like the day when I was at the Sandpit with you and 4stroke) and start pushing it harder. I just have to learn to ride better I fought the bike so much and fell off so much I didn't even think I could finish a lap about 25 mins in. 5 mins later I discovered the water problem after I'd hit a tree earlier. I'd pushed the pipe into the radiator hose and cracked the hose. There's not a lot of clearance there anyway but the tree didn't help??

I cleaned the bike but haven't stripped it yet, it got a bit of a rattle on but never nipped up or seized so it should be OK. Maybe a new piston and ring needed just to be safe. I rode it back to the pits via the road after I put a litre or so from my my Camel pack in it, so it wasn't completly dry either. Lucky I heard it and know what a 2 stroke death rattle sounds like from my Karting days. I stopped to look after only the second time it did it. I 'll take it to bits this week but I'm not expecting to much to do!

Still fucking gutted with myself though!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

Yeh it was that old fucker that was running in 22nd place on the 3rd lap at least i didnt cause you to drop it that would have been one of those visa priceless moments. You should try getting of the start line full tit in second on a track full of ruts one handed not that easy but beat smashing hand on your bars.

I saw the final results, I think you ended up 18th, and Rupert I think you were 44th.

What grid slot did you guys start on?

    We started on grid 23.
There was 80 odd entries with 70 odd finishing at least one lap, me and my mate started on grid 21 and it was a complete mission getting through the traffic, got the holeshot and steadily worked my way through, got 15th overall, 1st in age group and 5th in bike class, not to bad but a couple of small mistakes cost me a couple of spots. I'm looking forward to the more open and flowing tracks where I can actually use some of the power, it would have been nice to be on a 200 in all that tight stuff.

Good work guys, sounds like ya all had a good days racing - except for Reckless that is. Me be thinking that maybe you should come out with us to do some tight twisty riding.
Not that you will need it for the next round at Matata though as this course suit the MX style more. It even has jumps?

It doesn't suit the old farts so much as it fair beats the ole body up.

Thanks for the offer mate I might take you up on a few lessons out the sandpit!!
I'm hoping, upon hoping that I might be a bit better on the open stuff. I did way better on the Rodney ride weekend B4 last than I did in the forest last Saturday. Maybe my High speed road riding might count for a little more in the fast MX stuff. I dunno?? Only time will tell?? If its going to be wet next round I'm staying home.
