That bike - is my property, they were under obligation to make sure that bike was safe at all times, while in their hands. The owner of the store would have been up for a replacement bike, as well as paying the finance on that bike, if it had gone walkabout. If he tolerates his staff making those kinds of "mistakes" and is willing to wear the costs if something like that happens again, then so be it, but I highly doubt it......
the simple fact is, (and I'm very suprised nobody has mentioned it before) is that is a Hydrobag 250. and there ain't no way anybody's going to risk time for one of those. Maybe drop it off to the tip, but steal it? Get real.

it really doesnt matter if its a 50cc scooter or the latest sprotsbike off the floor. the care taken with both work done and delivery should be the same. someone could easily have stolen the bike, the owner of the house where it was left could have had it towed, likely resulting in major damage.

Nope just not taking bullshit service like so many other people around the place for lots of different things.

Venomous. Nah. Not in the slightest. Just blunt - direct and straight to the point. Same as with anything. And once again if people don't like it - stiff......
Well youd better be prepared for a life of conflict then, unless the passage of time affords you a little moderation . If they screwed up thats fine but your reaction and steadfast black and white attitude is one that would make Robert Mugabe proud. Again, no excuses for anyone screwing up, but running a motorcycle shop is a very complex and often thankless existence. FACT.
Maybe you should try it sometime, then you would have to learn compromise to appease customers.

I'd be inclined to react similarly. The thought of my 20 grand bike being casually 'left' at an unknown address sends shivers - they'd not see me back

DingoZ, I suggest you calm down and hope like hell you never make a mistake!! I agree with Robert, it was a stupid mistake to make but it happened and thankfully it all ended without serious problems. But this forum is not the answer, I must say I have always had great service from TSS, unfortunate things will always happen, unfortunately it was all with the one customer in this case. If I was you I would'nt return either i'd be too embarrased!

    Response

OK I think its time to reply to this thread (against my better judgement as Andrew is sort on anonymas and Im not that anonymas)

1st I have asked my workshop manager to wright down his side of the story which now follows.

The Client called to book in his bike when I wasnt here one of my staff took the call he booked the bike in to be picked up for a service on Thursday we have a FREE PICK UP SERVICE so we dictate when it can be picked up (for logistical reasons) the staff member that was picking up the bike (not the same person that droped it off) called the client to make sure the bike will be there when talking to the client he said he had taken thursday and friday off so wasnt in a hurry so we booked the service in for the friday morning(should have been Thursday). we had the bike in our shop for a couple of hours when the client came in to pay the bill as we were going to drop the bike back when the service was complete I explained he could not pay the bill as we had not started the service and we dont know what the final invoice total was going to be as the bike might need other things done or parts fitted. On hearing this the client became verbally abusive with swearing, shouting and name calling because he would have to return to the shop when the bike was completed. The client was not happy with this and that the bike would not be ready until the following day I offered to do the service myself but he continued to swear, shout and call me names(enough said) he then left the workshop to see the manager (who was not in at the time) the client left the shop at this point I did not know wheather to carry on or if he would take it to another shop, after speaking to the manager we dicided to carry on with the job as per normal. The Following day the client was called to say the bike was ready, the client came in and paid the bill on reciept of the money I said thanks mate (as I do use that sort of slang SORRY)on hearing this i then recieved another torrent of abuse including more name calling shouting and swearing (seems im not his mate NO KIDDING). He paid the bill and went on his way. I sent a new employee to drop the bike off which as we know was at the wrong address I realised this when I talked to the employee after he returned I at once sent him back to get it back to the correct address during the time that the employee had gone the client called me again and this time was even more abusive (which I can understand) the bike was then returned to the correct address. The new employee has been given a written warning (not a good way to start a new job).

OK For me I dont normally reply to this sort of stuff which is very very rare (check other comments) but I think in this case this thread deserves a reply this will be the only reply that I give to this thread and will not make it into a slanging match.

Andrew you were ok when you talked to me on the phone at this time I did not know that you had been abusive to my staff (and before the bike was droped off) you explained that you were very unhappy and that you would never be coming back I asked if there was anything I could do (as its the putting right that counts) you said NO, which is fair enough so I wished you all the best. Then we have a NEW Employee drop your bike to the wrong address what a MAJOR fuck up especily to a person that seems to have anger managment issues. and sure enough here is the thread to prove that you dont know how to conduct yourself in a proper way. I am sorry that it has come to this but to all you people that read this thread remember there are always 2 sides to a story and then there is what really happened , I am sad to lose Andrew as a customer but I will not stand for any one yelling and abusing my staff calling them names and trying to intimadate them knowing full well that they can not respond in any way as it is against my busseness policy there are ways to go about things but I think you you should inrole in an anger management course as you do have some issues in this department. (AND YES I KNOW I CANT BLOODY SPELL)

I will repeat I will not respond to this thread again

I bought a bike from TSS a year ago and have been pleased so far in all my dealings with them. I have no objection to DingoZ criticising them on this forum, and I have no objection to others defending them. However I must say I find this a little amusing in the circumstances:

Who made you the high and mighty, judge of what I should or should not have done and in what manner.

Granted swearing at people aint cool ( you should have sent him elsewhere at this point, Your fault that you didn't) there is just no coming back from delivering his bike to the wrong address, no matter how much of an asshole someone might be.

You really should just apologise and hope the thread dies.

Moral of story - some people should not buy motorcycles and some people should not service motorcycles.

I feel that the service management was crap, but had too much shit thrown at them by a moron customer on the phone.

Yes feel obliged to help a customer out - but don't bend over so they shaft you. But always make sure your staff know 100% of what is going on - if they fuck-up it is at the end of the day your fault. You have the power to hire and fire.

And the customer needs to be courteous at all times......these people are trying to help you the best they can. How the fuck is yelling at them going to help the task at hand - do you yell at your knotted shoe laces? Or are you wearing Velcro right now?

    In response to Stu's Post.

Several details in that are incorrect, but shit happens.

Name calling - can't think what they were. Mainly stated I was fucked off with the piss poor performance from useless individuals. Didn't call you arseholes or any other derogatory names. Well I remember " I am not your m8 and things were not "sweet as m8" were they. Think I told you that at the time.

Yup, I admit I got hot under the collar. Who bloody wouldn't.. Anger management not needed. Cause I'm not going to be dealing with unprofessional incompetant people like you again..... There ya go some name calling.....

Pissed off at the chain of events. And yeah could have handled it better on hindsight, but then again a lot of things could have been handled better, from both ends of the stick.

    So in closing.

Good luck to any who frequent TSS. Wish you the best of luck.

I think very little of you now Andrew.

When I met you, I thought you were a good guy DingoZ, now I realise you are just another cock looking for the world to bend to your will.

The guys in the workshop at TSS are mates of mine, and I have heard their version directly. Even allowing for them to exagerating, your story reeks of bullshit!

Please, anyone reading this thread know that the guys at TSS workshop will do whatever they can to help you, and although a mistake in bookings may have happened in this case, DingoZ was the one who went apeshit straight off the batt.

Fine, you only had free time on Thursday, did the guys fuckin know that?

You're a cock, small minded, quick to judge and as quick to get defensive, I'm very happy to say that you are one less person who's posts I need to read, because the ignore list is my friend.

I'm sure he's absolutely devastated about that.

Perhaps you could enlighten us regarding the actual points of fact in DingoZ's post(s) which are incorrect?
