    Biker trends?

I've been noticing lately over here in the UK that many Harley and Buell riders wear tan Caterpillar boots and tan work gloves, the pig skin gauntlet kind you'd buy from Wickes, B&Q or Travis Perkins (equiv of Placemakers in NZ?). First I noticed was on the A12 a few weeks ago, a guy on a Harley with massive ape hangers and these big gloves flopping around....noticed his co-ordinated boots too.

Yesterday, while out riding in Kent, BSB were on at Brands so there were all sorts of bikes around..... Noticed the same again....

So is it an HD trend, Or just a bargain way to gear up?

It's an HD trend. One of the many Harley uniforms observed whilst in the USA recently.

But surely Harley riders are the last of the rugged individuals...?

Besides, it could be dangerous for a middle aged Dentist to wear those work gloves, they might break a nail.

There are biker trends???? Cripes.. Here I was thinking I was being an individual. Oh well I suppose I had better go find some tan accessories to go with my black bike, black helmet, black jacket, black gloves, black pants...
No... no trends here thankyou very much.

And they don't seem to notice when they're amongst a crowd of other rugged individuals that they all look the same.

Is that "rugged" as in toupee-wearing?

    hahahahahaha

Brings to mind a certain MC's poker run a few years back... it was a sea of HDs with their riders in black on black on black... till I turned up LOL!
Not only did the Buell stick out like dogs balls but I EVEN had the nerve to buck the trend and was wearing my Joe Rocket jacket that has....WHITE and SILVER on it...OMG! breaking away from the 'uniform' LOL.

Doncha allknow that ex-freezing works steel-capped boots, cheapo leather strides, fingerless gloves and tassled leather jackets are dee-rigoor for a proper Harley rider - hell, even us improper ones wear that kit!!

Oh, and a skull-mask and shorty open-face helmet are worth bonus points.

I have the steel cap boots but mine are black and I have to wear them for work. My gloves are proper ones with hard armor in all the right places, perfect for knocking out car windows, as one stupid bitch up here learned yesterday.

Oh and my bike is red, not black.
