I reacon the biggest upset there was Bonez. I was expecting to see much better figures. Could be he has a worn needle in his carb!

As for the Sprints if you look at the thread theres a bit of fall out going on over the number of entries. You may well find the next ones got an entry cap which would mean getting an entry in or risk missing out.
Not too upset Gary about fuel figures, was in fourth a lot due to headwinds I'm generally happy with around 300kms per 14 litres. I'll give 95/98 a go next time just for fun.

FI is the way to go due to its better metering of fuel. There's been a 20 year advancement in technology afterall. Impressed with the wee 4s fuel usage.

Gone quiet in here Garry. I hope you haven't given up on it. I've got a ride planned for today, but maybe next week!

Would have gone on the ride to Wellington today if I didn't have other stuff on. Saw a group of about 8 bikes off this morning at 7.30am.

Next Saturday is the Vic Club racing but Sunday would be a good day again.

Will post closer to the day dependant on weather but probably just the same deal again if people are keen. 1pm departure from a local servicestation

Speedo set to 000km,fill up at Paramata? today 168km for 9.3ltr $18.61 91 octane, not too bad for an oldie.Came home from 168km and reading 385km and needle just into red zone, was chasing tigers, bandits and hog replicas from Levin turnoff, and they were going quick on our private closed road, especially when the cop car was spotted in front of the van.

I just did a 98 run and rode like a nana for 133.4km. Bike still took 8 litres, so it equates to 5.99lt/100km. I'm going back to 95 in a big hurry.

Mmmmm did an oil change yesterday so disconected the battery as its the easiest way for me to keep track of what kms i done (memory like a sieve here)
Your post prompted me to go have a look and mmmmmm mine says 5.6lt/100km over the 300 odd km i did today !
Did notice the drop in the cost of feul though lol $5 less to fill up today !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

    You rely on that computer?
I only tried it because I saw that Al's Tiger was getting 5.15lt/100km on 98 and I thought it may be a well kept secret. I guess the Tiger is a little more aerodynamic than mine. Fuel maps play a big part too and the one I'm running is not the most economical, however I like instant grunt......and that I have!

Only rely on it to keep tabs on oil changes lol
Would be interesting to calibrate it though, see where it's at ! Sure as hell were no nanas out there today haha went looking for corners and Heidi had her head pressed to the back of mine through most of em (probably snoozing knowing her lol) If mine does callibrate up to be correct, that map of yours will sure as hell be a thirsty one !
Was running 95 today but have to say i dont seem to notice bugger all difference in power between 98, 95 and 91 only in the pocket lol they recon the higher octane is only good for the older bikes that may preignight !
Might do a calibrate tommorra (and just try and remember to do another change at 10000 haha) just for the hell of it, but only for a short trip from one gas station to the next down SH1 Otaki to plimerton or sommit !

I might disconnect the battery and have a go myself. Most maps I've tried seem to have a lean area around 4000-5000rpm (cruise region) and are quite economical, but seem to lack instant throttle response. I'll talk to Kerry Wallis about it and see what he reckons, after all it's his map.

Ride leaving Ashhurst at 1.00pm. Weathers looking ok will decide route before departure depending on who turns up.

Well todays economy run was eventful and a new record was established for the shortest distance covered on a full tank of gas.

Looking forward to hearing from the guys that did the ride to Lake Ferry as I heard a rumour about a certain American icon.

I covered 471km on our ride today and used 30.2 litres of fuel 6.41lt/100km.
I reset my computer and that reads 5.7lt/100km (Tui ad).

They don't make rubber bands like they use to Gary. Well we really don't know how long the final drive belt has been on the beasty. All got home safe though by the looks, one way or the other. Not a good day at all for Manawatu owned american assembled/designed products today. Horse should be all set for next weekend though. The Buell should be covered under warrenty.

Gerble covered 491kms today from Ashhurst. Didn't take too much notice of how much fuel I used but hit reserve before I got home.
