    Radar/laser jammer?

    hey there.
not sure if this is the right place for my question,or if there's already a thread somewhere with the answer, but i was wondering if anyone knows of a radar detector/laser jammer all in one for a motorbike, who sells them, and how effective it is.

i am aware that radar detection isn't reliable, especially if a cop turns the radar off and on,but they can narrow down the chances a bit.

oh...btw...i'm not interested in peoples opinions if they are going to preach pro law crap, as i'm well aware of the law.

so can we please keep to relevant info

    cheers

Hey, never used one myself, but people are pretty dead set on the Valentine detectors. The 'No cuntstable' thread below yours has a couple links to detector websites, including dome Laser snuffing paint to help, but not put a nappy on your ass to cover all the mess.

I understand the Blinder laser jammers work very well. A colleague has one on his car and he tells me it works superbly. If pulled over and quizzed he would call the system a 'parking radar' which his car does have. All the electronics for it are hidden. Not sure how you'd mount one to a bike though.

I know on cars they target the licence plate or headlights. Not sure what the target on bikes - it's either the headlights or the helmet from memory, so might be harder to jam them.

As for all in ones? No idea, sorry.

im fairly sure its the head light they target needs to be something reflective.. a radar/laser detector would give you some warning as i understand its more difficult to target a bike than a car with laser

There are detector/jammer units on the market but they're crap. Do a search to find plenty of info on the most reliable detectors and yes, the Blinder is the best jammer.

And no, detectors are NOT illegal (yet!)

i read an article on detection/jammers.
jammers aren't illegal as long as they don't transmit a signal,as that would be interfering with blah blah blah...something or another.
instead they can work off reflection, and that's sweet as.
and yep.you're right.detectors are not illegal.

Only applicable to RADAR as it is a radio signal and you must have a licence to "broadcast" a signal.
Laser is a light spectrum which is un-regulated.

Detectors are going to become illegal in NZ at some point. So I'd advise mounting your unit discretely (it will save you from having to relocate it in future).
