    Fines

    Hey Guys:

What’s penalty if caught riding a bike larger then a 250 on your learner’s license?

What’s the penalty if caught carrying a passenger on your 250?

    Cheers everyone

    $400

    and

    $400

If you don't have an L plate (which I think you won't have) thats another $400

But just remember, you pay them IF you get caught...

    Rubbish.

I didn't. Usually if you ride like an idiot, you'll attract attention.

Then again, the Gingaa may be lurking around.

No insurance when riding outside the conditions of your license.

Something worth considering as learners are prone to prangs - and it's the repairs to the other vehicle that will sting the worst.

Depends how you ride I rode around for several years after my license got all screwed by the conversion from paper to photo-id (lost the motorcycle class) didn't ever get pulled over but I always have worn the correct gear, tried to drive inconspicuously and to be honest a lot of the riding was more off road than on back then.

I'm good and getting it all fixed again now (hence the 250), nice to know I can be pulled over and wont get a fine. My advice would be to either get the 250cc restriction exemption otherwise just get a 250 and get the correct license otherwise your just delaying the inevitable (sitting your license) and potentially getting a fine.

Wouldn't rocking on out and picking up a swanky 600 or litre on a lerners screw you for sitting all the other tests? Unless you're aiming to never sit the other tests and get your full. Or get an excemption.

How does buying a bigger bike out of licence work from a dealer? They have to record your licence so I would assume whoever the forms go to would say "no sorry, you can't have it cause you're a newbie".

It's the same as driving a car and following the rules. If you're a dick and doing something outside the rules (apart from being a dick), you'll get nailed.

I didn't. Usually if you ride like an idiot, you'll attract attention.
That's what it comes down to though.

Dealers can sell bikes to you no matter what licence you have, they can sell you one even if you don't have a licence.
