    Radar mounts?

I am after some advice as to where I can purchase the bits and bobs needed to mount my Beltronics STI radar awareness device? I have had a look at the radar direct website but their prices seem very much over the top.

    Cheers

Look no further than Ram Solutions in Auckland. Top products, outstanding service, great prices.

Bought my mount and screamer from www.motorcycleradar.com in the USA 3 years ago. Probably still competitive, even with the exchange rate. Took 4 days to arrive from ordering it!

Someone recently posted an excellent mount that was home made. A simple flat piece of sheet-metal attached to the fairing bolts and with a tab that the STi clips onto.

They are still very competitive. I just bought some stuff from them for my new detector.

I had my V1 on my Bandit 1200 in the cowling under the light. It was mounted with velcro and stayed in place for years. No need for anything fancy. I also had a screamer to warn me of the radar. Excellent combination...

Have a look at post #10 in thread: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=43603. This is pretty much a typical setup . Some mounts are bar mounted like mine, some are stem mounted on the headstock and as Swoop else said, you can make a nice alloy one which is fixed to the screen bolts inside the fairing. I made one for my mate's Gixxer.
