    Contact insurance.

Don't bother with getting the bike to a shop - an assessor wll come around to your place.

back slid out (lowsided?) something slippery? dunno.. i wasnt going any faster than i usualy do on the corner (50k)
i went sliding, bike bounced over curb, i bounced over curb.

At a guess i'd say it'll be cheaper to replace the muffler with a yoshimura than with an OEM one... so don't forget to mention this (or investigate for yourself).

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

At 50 k or even there abouts it won't be the tyres that's with the proviso the treads ok. Most likely some grit oil etc. Just a bad luck. Mind you if you gunned the throttle at the wrong time, could cause the back to slide out. Don't sound like that's the probem just some road shit.

You're in one piece, the ATGATT approach pays dividends despite the mocking you will often receive on this site.

Our roads are gravel covered with a layer of tar and diesel - go back and look at the corner, you'll be able to see what caused you to come off - if you don't go back and look, you won't know what to look for in the future.

Good luck with the insurance company, most are cunts.

It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

Look for an opportunity to go do some riding in the dirt (on a dirt bike). It'll help prepare you for the times when the rear steps out. Forget the brakes, easy on the throttle and above all look where you want to end up (not where you're going).

Go to the doc and get checked over no matter how "ok" you are feeling. Don't play doctor and think you are ok, coz two weeks later you might get a bad fright.

Oh, and DO what the doc tells you to do.

Make a point of finding out why you crashed and learn to avoid it, oh and tires are the most important thing on your bike..well it ties for most important. So no skimping on tires, get good one and always check your pressures.
