    Lowsided - Bugger!

Well merely a stones throw from my driveway i lowsided my pride and joy.
Downhill left then right and on the right she went all the way over.

    Damage Report:
Excessive scrapage and gouging to the right hand side upper and lower fairing, integrated indicator mirror lense smashed, front brake lever grazed, rear brake foot pedal, bent right in but still operational. Slight scuffing on rear fairing around seat.

Arlen Ness Jacket sleeves ripped to the armour, draggin jeans cargos - rip in right knee but kevlar all in tact. Right hand glove carbon fibre knuckles ground down to stubs. Oxtar right boot has toe slider well worn and both have scrapes on the heels.

All i have is a friction burn on my right knee from the impact. Oh and a broken heart seeing my bike looking so sad.
Check the road afterwards and there was nothing untoward, have gone to work everyday this week at the same exact time and had no difference in cornering yet today it went down. Cold tires is all I can put it down too.

We live we learn i guess, and no it wasnt speed - its literally 35km/h at the max by the time i get to the corner from leaving my driveway.

And heres the piccies of the bike and the road:
Pic 1 - small circle at the top is where i went down and the large oval is where the bike ended and i was about at the lampost when i stopped and got up.
Pic 2 - Road surface looks fine to me
    Pic 3 - Scrapage Galore
Pic 4 - thats the indicator poked
Pic 5 - Green oval is my house, litte red circle is where the biek went down, and red oval is where the bike stopped.
Pic 6 - the bung rear brake lever.

Oh so fimiliar. Mr DMNTD went down pretty much exactly the same distance from home, high sided but, black ice. $26,000 damage to the MV, yep, hard to imagine at such low speeds.

Good on you for walking away mate.

    It's only a few scratches.

    Glad you're okay.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Tut tut James. Danny was going down Norana Rd in Timberlea.

The photos definitely don't show the slope but it's quite steep. The distance travelled is most likely due to the slope of the road going downhill.

I know the road well and its definitely possible to slide that far at that place.

My sympathies dude, Its amazing how much damage can be done in a simple lowside. Plus points are you didn't get damged youself. If your insured you'll get it all fixed or replaced, as you've already seen you'll get the Nanies giving there holier than thow replies, just ignore them dude. Hope the pride and joy is at her best soon.
