I'm a little harder to handle then a 10!
Ride it like you stole it....
Jesus Carver, you can talk shit....
What's this dampener you speak of?
A damper maybe? If you were such a hard-arse, you'd ride without it or on minimum... Soft-cock!
Before you get all pissy about being called on it, I had a mate with the 04. At first it never had a damper but he did get one eventually. It was like he was on two different bikes, the way he rode before and after, that was the amount the damper made the bike more stable...
Ill send my daughter down on her hyo 250, just to make it fair carver
Damn... Al beat me to it. Stock the 04/05 never came with a damper... hell, even on a little below middle on a good quality damper it was still quite capable of tank slappers etc.
Sounds like you didn't ride it high enough in the revs. Low, you'd wonder what was so great... middle revs, you'd realise what a thou is like, high revs (not just down straights) you'd realise gravity needs to be higher, coz the wheels don't grip the air so well.
I owned one for 18 months... its a mental bike, mostly because of being twitchy, there is no confidence in its behaviour, and the power delivery is not smooth enough for sustained slides.
God its a great bike![]()

of course it has more mid and low, the k1/2 is well known for that, well, all gixxer motors are really.
But if you want fun, a bike that mocks you and your perceptions of your riding ability, the zx10 is it... the 06/07 was definitely a tamer bike, and you could ride it down a section of road quicker than the 04/05... but the 04/05 was always the beast... (and best)
The 08 is apparently more a wild child again... but I can't bring myself to ride something that ugly... a paper bag is not nearly enough.

08 and 09 should be the same... Maybe with a few small changes...
04 and 05 were similar, as were the 06 and 07.
So 08 and 09 should follow the same pattern...
From what I've heard, the 08 is definately an improvement over the 06/07. Handles a lot better and the brakes are a lot better.
Once a PCIII and pipe are added, it wakes the bike up in the midrange and gives it a wicked top-end.
I would definately go for a 10 before a Blade. Bigbossman was selling one a while back, definately a good deal...
