There are people in this world who we all as individuals will take an instant dislike to, for what ever reason, mostly it is because they rub us up the wrong way, or because they remind us of what we dont like about our selves, or how we were when we were a certain age, the reasons are numourus.
once we have taken a dislike to some one it is often very hard to change our view point of that person, what we have to be careful of is we dont get enrolled into how some one else negativly views a person, their reasons may be justifyed to themselves, but to fail to form our own individual opinions is dangerous because that is when we stop being a free thinking individual and become yet another Sheeple.

Absolutely right. We are all flawed and it takes a very short time upon meeting someone for each to form a 'view/sense or feeling' of and about the other. It's instinctive and questionning your mental models about why someone might 'really not click with you' can be quite revealing.

There are certain topics that are brought up on this web site that I dont bother to read as I know that the only way I will react to them is badly, there are certain individuals who I dont bother reading their posts or threads, as I know that it is not worth my energy to get angry about what some Muppet thinks or says, it is hard not to take the bait some times, that is laid out infront of us, it is better to choose the battles we wish to fight, than fight every battle.

True that -for me, given it's the internet - sometimes it's kinda fun to go with that vitriole and jump in boots and all. Not particularly mature of me I know but meh, shit happens and the internet is where I am free to be the most imperfect me I can...that really is a gift and a relaease for me - in every other part of my life I am required and expected to be sensible, responsible, tolerant, professional, friendly and a whole heap of other things that drain my energy over time. It's nice to let loose and have a good rant or bitch on here - though I have tended to keep my bitches to the Bitch forum lately..they really are all good bitches in there Besides - Those that know me know that while I am fairly crazy I also give a shit about those good people around me and would step up to help in any way I can.

I DO think a motorcyclist killed affects other motorcyclists more so than if joe bloggs dies some other such way. I believe this is due in part to a lot of what MMB said. We are all cogniscent of the fact that riding is dangerous and that we could die and be taken away from the people we love. I have never sat in other non biker funerals and questionned my love for this sport, and had it brough front of mind to consider my own funeral arrangements and 'grieving' needs. Everytime I go to a riders funeral (far too many now I must say!) I end up contemplating my riding style and abilities, the reasons I continue to do it despite the risks, what I would want my son to know if I died on my bike and well heaps of other stuff - this doesn't happen at funerals caused by other things. Sorry rah rah rah - boil it down...I am way more affected by rider deaths (whether I know them or not) than I am by the death of others doing non biking things....(excluding friends and loved ones deaths of course!!!)
