" Life is not a rehearsal, it's as happy or miserable as you want to make it"
That noise you just heard was the point of this thread flying over your head; especially ironic given your last statement.
And for the record, I care not at all about you - anyone who rides drunk deserves all the bad kharma that is due. What I dislike is... Well, reread the original post (or get someone smart to read it out loud for you).
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.
I am completely 100% with ya on this Mike.
You are a sensible bloke and I thank you for posting your thoughts.
Here is what I said last week in which I quoted a person whom I have met, and ridden with, that said something so dumb, I could not beleive what I read, others however, could beleive what they read.

There is a thread doing the rounds atm, 'which piece of road do you own'' you may have seen it?
While I view that thread as a 'throw away thread' hence my comment in there, one should also think about the flipside of the thread title.
'Some day, that same piece of road could own you'
I wasn't going to get into this but...
Last Saturday night, a question was asked by a young fulla that totally floored me.
He said '' do you guys ride to die or ride to live''?
Now the headspace of some people on here leaves me gobsmacked at times, really it does. I do not ever need to be around people who beleive in that statement.
If I owned this site, the would be a regular cleanout of members, they would be given the option of toning it down or fucking off.
Sure some things are said in jest on here and I have a pretty good idea of whos having a wind up and whos not. That being said, posting dumb shit for the sake of it (or a response) is begining to wear thin from where I sit.
Every class room has a class clown or multiples thereof, everyone else in that same class either gets, or doesn't get the clowns attempted humour.
If you read my prior post I wont have to go over my thoughts again. In carvers case? he is pretty easy to work out, he is three different people, theres the online Carver (where he says alot but in actual fact theres not alot said) theres the Video Carver...(where he comes accross as an intelligent and knowledgeable bloke) then theres the real life in person Carver (where he can fit into an adult world of conversation etc) we already have an Enigma eh??

i dont know carver, but the world is full of showoffs and people who do silly stunts to get attention,i know ive done a few myself and probably still will, mostly its all for fun and ends in laughs and others may and do end in tragedy, its life so get over it we all die somehow, some just do it easily than others, and btw carver my mothers a mormon and frequents that temple spot on a regular basis shes 85 now and i think it would have made her day to see your stunt, even mormons have a sense of humour
I was one of them back in the 70's and am only here by the grace of God.
I am one of the survivors of that era and many of the guys I rode with then aren't with us.
I would never let my daughter out on a motorbike on her own. Enigma? Sure is but even she would be more level headed than me back then... it's the "others" I worry about.
No amount of lecturing has any affect unfortunately and people will do what they want to do....you can't make them do otherwise.
When you are younger you are invincible and you just don't learn from the mistakes of others. Those that are sensible willl stay within their known limits but in today's world with faster machines those limits are a hell of lot further out than in my day.
I've know guys come off their bike at 50kmh and die instantly and others including myself have come off at high speed back then without any gear to speak of and have survived not once but many times.
When you are having fun, you do push the boundaries in whatever activity we indulge in and yes, at these times you never think of the consequences.
Sure, it's ok to point out peoples shortcomings and we do it to make sure they are still going to be around. Sometimes it works but more often than not it won't. Thats the nature of us humans.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

I got my ticket to ride legally in 1976 and have been riding off and on since. Riding bikes gets in your blood. When I was a yoof I was as big an idiot as you could get. I was young, loved bikes and went for it. That is what you do.
I had children, they slowed me down. I wanted to be with them, and now I want to love my grandchildren (though if any of you tell my kids I am looking forward to that I will not be happy!) so I am staid, and careful on the road. I love riding my bike! I dont personally give a shit what people think about how I ride, I ride for me!
Death comes to us all eventually. There is no good time to die. I have been close to the effects of a sudden death as a result of a motorcycle crash this past week. It sucks, but it happened. We do what we can to get through and move on. I wont stop riding, it wont change how I ride either.
Young Carver has been on the recieving end of my "very unimpressed Mom" telling off in person. He survived! He linked me to his latest Mormon few vid on my profile, I laughed out loud! We had a talk in person last weekend, we both survived. I was young once, I did heaps of dumb shit and lived to tell the tale, lets hope he does too!
Interesting opinion. It would take a very short period of time before KB become so batshit boring that the only folk left would be those old conservative riders that in-spite of bike ownership spent their entire lives on their knees.
Terrible post Mark, you really cannot be serious??
