I shall bust the magic here. Currently I'm studying Linguistics it's been proven that generally women use more correct and formal language both in vocabulary and grammar/sentence structure whereas men generally use simpler language and more vernacular forms including more swearing.
Some clever buggers have come up with a system to analyse this, so most of my posts will likely score me a feminine rating since I intentionally use a better form. I can talk like a munter if I need to but it hurts my brain to do so.

No they haven't, as such. This comes from computer science types, not linguistics types.

They've come up with a system that characterises data based on whatever turns out to be unique about it, and then 'trained' it with text input known to be written by either males or females.

The researchers behind it wouldn't give a toss about codifying the actual differences between male and female writing; they're only interested in building software that can learn what those differences might be. You could just as easily test it by training it to distinguish between photographs of puppies and kittens.

    See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_neural_network

So the 'rules' that are being applied will not be as obvious as 'vernacular versus formal', or 'contains swearing'. The rules themselves will be machine-generated based on example input, nothing more, and might not be in any form that'd make much sense to you or me.

Well I'm too lazy to try it for myself, so can someone test my posts for me and tell me whether I should be standing up to piss?

The mere act of asking someone else to do this for you sounds like a lazy man, 82% man in fact.

Well there goes the need for stag and hind shitters then ! May have to raise the back board of the urinal though !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Interesting! Maybe I could get a job writing for a motorbike magazine then?

At least I won't have to worry about sitting on cold porcelain toilets when I don't notice the seat's been left up.

My other top repped post was 60% women so I think I am a transexual? But defianately lean toward the more manly side of things...

Well at least it explains the so far unexplained body hair.

But does it mean I am gay too?
