    SPB is on the money.

If you intend to go rip-roaring around and acting like a dick on a bike, there is a good chance Mr will be around the next corner with his anal probe all lubed up waiting.

If you can show some self-control and can enjoy a "social" (Note: Not Antisocial behaviour) get-together / ride, then you will be fine.

My point exactly: If your'e going to ride like twats you'll get whats coming to ya. We all want to get to the bar in one piece and have a nice evening talking shit etc, none of us wants to sweep up the mess of an over exuberant hoon

    Se you all tonight

yeah but from what i have heard, the thursday night rides are doing speeds that equal loss of license. So how fast do you people actually ride?

    It isnt rocket science.

(When I'm there - not sure how it runs when Im not??)
    1. I conduct a pre-ride briefing.
    2. I warn people of their speed every briefing (It would be interesting how many time Ive done it over the 3 years) and how many have lost their licences. Speed at your own risk and dont come crying if you lose it!
    3. I explain how the pointer systems work and why we use them.
    4. I point out who is leading and who is tail end charlie so there is no confusion.

So it is entirely up to the induvidual if they shall wish to speed (140kph+). I am comfortable to ride between 100-120kph (not just on the straights either!) and enjoy myself. Any twat with a wrist can go fast on the straights but when they get into the corners.....its a different story. I have been conducting these rides for over 3 years now and I have yet to get a ticket.
    Go figure.

If you want to enjoy yourself without losing your licence, tag on behind me.

Generally as fast as they feel, but knowing that the cops are around the lead doesn't usually hit 'licence losing' speed.

At the end of the day it's actually really simple, if you dont want to speed then don't. A lot of the corners we go through are quite enjoyable at the speed limit, some are 'more fun' a little bit over... but it's your decision as to how you ride. There will be a pointer staying on the corners where you need to turn off, and they *should* be staying there until the tail end charlie comes through.

It's a lot more tame than it used to be back in 2005/2006 where it was quite literally 'win or bin' for a number of people that participated.

I haven't witnessed any ego's shining through with peoples riding lately, 99% of the time it is just people enjoying an evening ride through some twisty roads after a shit week at work/uni/on the dole.

I'll second that Nice to see the Harley out there last night Kiwi_Graham.

Hey to put this into perspective, PeteJW on his Virago 250 always worries about coming along and getting left behind as it completely tops out at 130Kph. But last night he was a long way from the tail end charlie and even had to do duty at the corner once (Meaning he was second rider behind the lead).

You go as hard as you like, but there's lots of fun to be had without loosing license, skin or bike.

Top ride and good turn out last night.
