Are we talking a RG150 manual? if so there's a thread with download links (if they still work) here.

Actually no the first links don't work anymore but you might be able to get a copy from one of the locals that did download it.....
Post #25 there has another version still active.
    Cheers

For all I know it's common and easy to fix, but with my (lack of) mechanical intuition I'll just let the workshop at Trevor Pierce figure it out. Should really do a mechanics course or something sometime.
Anybody have any suggestions for courses, ways etc to learn more about that side of things?
I mcthink your mcclutch might be mcfecked - when I was behind you going up dyers it she sounded like an automatic mcscooter - ie like the clutch was slipping

My history with two strokes is that you can often tell what is going on just by checking the spark plug condition. I you get a w/shop manual from the mclibrary they usually have a good section on plug condition and the causes.

Your bike seemed to be mcrevving freely but it was poking out a fair amount of mcblue - the question is, is it running rich ( or oil pump seeting out of whack) or are you also burning engine oil due to excessive gap twixt rings and the bore which means you will be down on compression - mcgrunt.

If your plugs are oily your oil/fuel ratio is too low (too much oil) and you get blue smoke
If you have the above and are losing crankcase oil and low power across the rev range then probably the rings are stuffed
If you have the above and a misfire then you may have ignition issues
If your plugs are tan then the air/fuel/oil mix is ok - maybe powervalves?
If your plugs are white then you are running too lean - blocked jet in carb

Anyway, this is my experience from RD days (they didn't have powervalves then though, just reed valves).

PM me if you want to have a yarn about it.

Well I made it to the petrol station. Thanks for your concern Dave and co. I quote: "well it's a flat walk from Tai Tap to Halswell". I pulled into the servo with about half a litre left in the tank. Oops!

Once again, great to see new faces. It's hard to believe that every week there's someone new coming along.

Our thoughts are with Roger. I hope he makes a quick recovery. Thank you to those who were first on the scene. You did an awesome job.

Not like you to let your eyes wander that far down Dave...

You should keep your eyes up - it'll stabilise your bike as well

Wow, so much feedback. Cheers all.
As said, I'll leave it to the workshop for now, but with the amount of spare time I have coming up (high school -> uni holidays) I think I'll have to have a poke around the bike myself. It's a shame I only got the bike once maintenance evenings were finished, especially since everyone seems so keen on helping out. Suppose I have to lose my mechanical virginity sometime though, so guess I'll just have to get stuck in.

Another note, I notice a Gymkhana thread taking root in the sportsbike forum. Although we hardly need any more things to try and organise, would anybody on giving it a go here sometime? Seems like an awesomely fun/cheap/challenging event.
