Talking to the Indian chaps at work, they think it's a bunch of Muslims from Pakistan who want to turn India into a Muslim-only country. Dunno how accurate that is, but that's apparently the Indian public perception. Not too keen on the Pakis, the Indians it would seem. If I got the right end of the stick, they were saying back in '92, '93, there was some terrorist thing (bombs or somesuch) in India. The man responsible hoofed it to Karachi and the Pakistan government refuse to extradite him back.

All gossip of course. It seems these chaps have made their minds up though.

Don't believe everything our crap media tells us, least of all the line "muslims are evil and hate us for our western freedoms" bullshit.

Believe what you want. Just remember that there are many sides to each story and few things are as they seem.

Not today I think Pakistan has sent its Intel head to India to help ease the tensions and give any info on the terrorists. Seems they are both co-operating with each other on this one.

An aside to this. Watch Obama get more involved with the Afghan and Pakistan 'War on Terror.'

There are so many tribes and sub tribes in India that it is not funny, it could be any one or combination of any groups behind it all, there is also the possibility that the Indian military are behind it, to keep the Kashmere on the boil, or it could be just another bunch of nutters behind it all, I geuss we will never know.

They want to tell everyone how angry they feel about the way their daddy was mean to them and hit them.

They want to make you see that they are right and you are wrong, so you can be saved, so the world will one day be complete.

They want everyone to stop talking about them behind their back and scheming to kill them, so they can relax and feel safe.

What they really need, is their society to change and understand that how they feel is a product of what they believe, and stop feeding their belief systems with negativity, and maybe then they will not feel so driven to act out what they believe.

See, they are not so different to us really. We are just a few steps ahead of them, with still a long way to go yet.

Which media says that?

Most of what I read or watch tries reasonably hard to distinguish between "extremists" / "fanatics" and just regular folk who happen to be muslim.

I'm sure there are religious motivations like you could presume but I heard a recording the other morning of one of them saying they will let the hostages go if they release other Decan Mujahadeen (sp??

) members that are in prison. I'm guessing they are referring to the ones they arrested earlier in the event.
May I just make an insightful comment that religion is mankind's cancer
