    First One Home!

Well, the sun is out and it is a great day but I am sore....
    Bloody and bruised...
More on that a little later.
I have posted some photos of the ride yesterday and you guys can have a look and comment etc.
I will write a bit more when the rest of the tribe make it back from the ride today.
Got home last night at 10pm, it was a long long but really enjoyable day out there. The weather was stunning! The terrain was great and the falls quite spectacular!

Great photos - but you imply there is an interesting carnage story and then don't give any detail - THIS IS NOT FAIR

    gory details are needed NOW

I gotta wait for the rest of the team to make it home, then we will get the photos together, sort out the truth, the lies the tall tales and start from there....
Yes, I fell off twice, but not the only one of course.....
I did have a fall that was potentially injury causing, could have been a lot worse but I carried on and we had a great day...
Funny though, as the day has progressed I had to have a sleep,
and I am sore... Neck hurts, both sides...aches and pains...lol

Maybe I was a little concussed but didn't realise it. The helmet is damaged but not unuseable of course....I was lucky I had one on and I had put the sleeves back on my jacket....
There, some information but not all....

It was a great day and I wish I had of stayed the night and ridden the next day with the guys. I had to get home for the animals and being a little tender in parts I thought it a good idea...

Pity you missed it but Steven, and the rest of the Welly guys, I am sure will be organising even more rides in the near future and I will definitely be a starter....

    Oh, for everyone....

My Indicator is back on, the dents taken out and the tank has been sanded back a little more and now it is truly battle scarred...
    BUT, what an adventure!

Thumbs up NZKTM - you da man Mark!

Home safe after a great 2 days - including Saturday with the Te Aroha Katoom team of NZKTM (aka Mark) & Brett

Brett on the 950 with dual sport tyres - seldom seen by most of us - his motto I'm sure must be 'colour me gone!'

Mark aka NZKTM get's my man of the match award for internal fortitude and resiliency in the face of adversity. I

'm sure he'll want to elaborate himself though. Key thing Mark glad you and that beaut KTM are OK.

Had a blast again today. Pics and ride report from us all later. Gotta tidy the house before picking my wife up from the airport

thanks all for great company - cheers Aslan

    Hmm, funny that.

There might have been someone there called Neville.
There might have been someone there who owned a Triumph Sprint
There might have been someone there riding a loaned KTM

But were they all the same person?

A workmate came up with the following info on the names of places we went thorugh Friday night.

    Named by the early missionaries:

    Atene (Athens)
    Koroniti (Corinth)
    Ranana (London)
    Karatia (Galatea)
    Hiruharama (Jerusalem)

    http://www.waymarker.co.uk/ml/nz/ni2.html

"The road passed through a number of small communities whose names had been given to them by the early missionaries with a classical bent, and then given Maori spellings and pronunciation so that we had Atene for Athens, Koroniti for Corinth, and Hiruharama for Jerusalem, but how London became Ranana was difficult to comprehend!"

    Simple:
There is no "L" sound in Te Reo Maori, so the "R" phoneme replaces it when making a Maori word out of an English one.
There is also an example of that in Hiruharama for Jerusalem, but he failed to notice that.
