Count me in also - should have the GS1000 back on track by then.

yea, i guess autobahn would be a good starting point - westies could first meet at, erm... somewhere west
definitely, i too need a couple of longer stops along the way - maybe in coromandel town and again in thames (if we take the clockwise loop).
maybe someone knows a particular place where we could stop?
it would be nice to take the clevedon - kawakawa bay - miranda route on the way to coromandel, but i'm not sure if this may make the trip too long?

My two others have confirmed. They are not the no-interweb hicks, those two are undecided as to if their Bri*ish bikes will make it all the way, ah haa haa ha
I told them not to worry, I am sure the Robot on Rails () likes nothing more than having a crusty Bri*ish biker on the back

On the new section of highway through Greenhithe traveling west from Albany. He was sitting under the Greenhithe Road overbridge that crosses over the motorway.
Ummm.. Not that I'll be comingbut My vote would be to go via Kawakawa Bay, Whakatiwai, Miranda, Kopu to Thames (The Goldmine Bar & Brasserie) then on to Tapu, Mania, Coromandel (Coromandel Star & Garter Hotel) Then across to Kuaotunu then Whitianga (Snapper Jacks Restaurant & Bar or the Sand Bar across the road). Then on to Tairua and past Hikuai to Kopu and back to Akld. Lots of places we can stop for extra breaks on the way..(did I say 'we'?)
Anyway.. That's what I'd do if I was going... See pics ...

Political correctness: a doctrine which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd from the clean end.
um...my Darmah is off the road due to 4 gears going missing..... they might be back in time.... Richard McF ( injured S2 rider found them) failing that can I bring a 'modern' still air cooled, 2 valve and less than 80hp?
cheers
Deadcati.
thanks for the tips, croc
so, if we were to take that route, where could we meet - papakura off-ramp?
is anyone familiar with that area that could suggest a good place to meet?
btw, bruno's still off the road - should start getting brake bits back this week (chromed and powdercoated)

I concur with the flying Crocodile, that coffee is guna taste real good.
Perhaps we meet at the Botanical Gardens.Turn off the motorway at Manurewa.
Turn left and then left again 100 metres away , into the Botanical Gardens carpark.
Their carpark is huge and the gates are open at 0700hrs.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
