Those will offer the same protection as a cheese sandwich there is no benifit from having it there.

For the money that looks very good.
It may not have CE but you will be better off wearing it if you bin and hit your back!

What he's saying it true. I have a KNOX Aegis from Quasi and it's freakin awesome. Barely even notice it and it fits so much better than all the others.

The Aegis is CE level 2 which is a big step up from CE level 1.

Doesn't do shit. Better than nothing but get someone to hit your spine with a hammer with the foam while imagining yourself sliding over a big rock or curb and you'll know what I mean. Try it with a proper back protector and you'll see why some of us swear by them.

I crash tested one of Quasi's non CE ones and it did the job. Didn't land directly on my back or slide over rocks/curb though as it was at the track. If you're on a budget it's a decent back protector. If you're after top protection go for the Aegis.

I agree. I bought an Knox Aegis back protector for my wife and myself from Quasi, and I recommend them. They are comfortable, and if I/we ever have to use them, at least we know that we have the best protection available.
My rational for spending that amount for back protection was that if i had it, it may save my life and/or keep me from being in a wheelchair.
I would hate to have gone for a cheap (non CE) protector, have an accident that left me paralyzed, and wish I had spent another $100 or so.
For me it's about what price do you put on your health / safety?
Best of luck with your choice. Anything will probably be better than nothing!

I've got a brand new one I don't need, its a large but more like a medium. Someone can have it for $50 + postage.
Not top of the line but not crap either.

    PM me if interested.

I'm sorely tempted by the Knox gear, would love to see it in the flesh if anyone in chch has a chest or back protector. The wife will expect little ones in due course (sooner rather than later), it seems appropriate that, should we go down t that row, that I'm around to care for them, even in the event of the unthinkable. Cheap insurance, and probably worth more than those homos at State give me.

That's unfair, they've looked after me well over the years

I've had a Knox since about 1996... A mate went off the outside of a corner and landed on rocks. His leathers were ripped to shreds and his back protector had gashes in them. If it wasn't for his back protector, he wouldn't have walked away.

I bought mine within that next week... I wear it every time I wear leathers...
