Well that was an interesting round not many turned up whole field rookies and clubman would have only been around 86 riders. Was very hot and dry, Track was very tight a few open road sections and couple of open bits towards the end where I was able to open up the bike good for passing. Found the best place for passing was the staircase of rocks straight up the right while most seamed to stay to the left in the ruts (dont know why so much smother and quicker to the right sheep sindrome i guess). Had a good tassle with Dammad1 till he dropped it when the front washed out and another good battle with a guy on an old 1985 yz490 who also dropped it in the end took me half a lap to get pass him. Problem was there where so many tree roots and stumps you would go to make a pass it would all go wrong and it was back to catch up mode nearly easyer to wait for them to drop it. ended up with 11th over all 1st for age and 3rd for bike class Rupe was 31st which may improve 3 for age and cant remmeber place for bike.
so all in all was a good day Strange place though as Tony had said Back end of no where. Looks like at the end of the working day they all left the mill went home and never came back real ghost town look.

was a good round aye. You did well to throw that big bike around to get a good result. Think all the other bikes except 1 were 125's and 250(4t).

There was a lot of people that track caught out on the first lap sat by their bikes unable to even finish one lap.

Yeah that place was real tough, I struggled badly, I would have loved to be on a smaller bike for that one, well done barty you did well to throw that 450 around in there, I was so stuffed in the end I could not stop dropping it.

I was looking at the times and there is something a bit odd about the guy in 7th position, check out his 3rd lap time, no way in hell he could have done a 27min lap without cutting the course somewhere.

Yeh i emailed greg this is the response i got back

I would seem a little out of the ordinary as the only rider to beat that time was Paul Whibley International star. And only once by 2 seconds.
    We will look into it
    cheers
    Greg

That guy would be a legend if he was that quick hopefully they will sort it out as it will move us all up overall one spot and put me in second for bike class.

LOL we must think alike, I also sent Greg the question via his website.

The extra point will be good as my mate Mike smoked me in that one and ended up 6th which caught him up alot of points on me.

Good on you guys Sounds like good placings and no busted bones or Bikes!!

Went out the sandpit today for a tootle. First time on the bike Since the last GNCC. Need to ride more but was saving for the new 200! Now with the downturn and a lot less work I have to make a final decision. Do I buy it or Do I keep a couple of mortgage payments in the bank for safety and keep riding the 03 ???
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Yeah I also have been deciding what to do, was thinking about upgrading in the new year, but have decided to strip mine down and give it a good going over, new bearings and etc, suspension revalve and will through a new piston and rings at it after the GNCC series.

keep the 03, there is nothing wrong with it. I'm not sure what the next couple of years will be like, but you might need that cash.

Mortgage fixed for next year or two but it might pay to break it if the rates get good enough!!

Yeh but you got an 08 already and I want one!!!
Won't hurt you to keep yours though they won't do any major changes from the 08 for the next two or so models!

I know Rupe your probably right and I don't think a newer bike will automactically improve my riding skills either. But I WANT it??? Its the first of a new revision model that usually lasts for 3-4 years and its a damn good buy and did I say I WANT IT!!!

INTERESTING feedback though!! one says tick it up, the others keep what I got.
Anyone wanna buy a good 03 Ktm200 exc??? Please??
