mate this is a great idea but it's not practical. unfortunately there are a boatload of undercover cops- fucking too many in fact, and what's more is that they are all different colours/diff models of holdens/different cars even!

m8 has been copped by a pig in a Nissan bluebird, and they also have been using quite a few hyundais too. As for holdens i've seen executives, clubsports and even a monaro!

The only way you have a chance is to slow down for all holdens no exception and to be looking into the car, if you don't spot the uniforms then you are bound to spot the sirens sitting ontop of the dashboard. They are also behind the rear windows... also some have some weird number plates...

Unfortunately they will always be a step ahead of us at this particular game!

I think we should rather list characteristics of the cars- not number plates etc. As has been said- it will turn into nothing but train spotting..

What IS important though is that we have all the details of the fucking GINGA's cage!!! He goes round in some mufty thing don't he?

    Good idea though

And add Subaru's in the south island, 4wd mitsi's (Diamante's), but they change them round area to area frequently ... for(to beat) this reason...

This is why I hate holdens with a passion. Even if you're toodling along the motorway safely at 120 with trafic you have to slow right down before you can even tell whether or not there is a cop in the car. I have heard of a hyundai like trademe said which pulled someone up. Surely though, there must be a certain type of numberplate they have as registered police cars, right?

Yup, it's frequently a white plate with black letters/numbers.

THAT should narrow it down a bit for you.

Oh, and there's a shit-load of other makes of car you should hate.

Or is one make your limit??

No. There's even one in Auckland with a personalised plate.

Yes it would. If this thread served any useful purpose, that may be a different story altogether.

woulda thought there was a specific type of number...ohwell haha. And yea there are a lot of other makes but I've only ever seen two that werent white commodores. Doesn't matter too much for me though, barely ever speed and when I do its not in built up areas and certainly not around too many other cars...Just to parranoid there might be a skumdog hiding somewhere! lol all gud

Do you know what the plate says?

I knew someone would ask. Nah, I can't remember. I saw it about 6 months back I suppose it was, on the southern motorway at Otahuhu/Mt Wellington.

A workmate has a plain black, commodore ute with matching canopy...

I asked him whether he is deliberately trying to look like a cop car, since he keeps his bright yellow, high-viz construction vest wrapped around the back of the drivers seat (looks like the driver is wearing it).
His reaction was "I had wondered why cars would come up behind me really fast and then slow down/not overtake!"

    Couldn't agree more.

Well Mr Holden there you have it- that is why I am never ever going to be buying one of your vehicles- ever!
