First ride! Wicked day, still above ground!

    Hi All,

Well - i need to post the "OMG, I DID IT" obligatory learner post!!

My first ride having never rode a bike on the road and the only other time was the skills handling test in a car park on a GN125 or something (didnt even test ride the bike i bought - thanks Brett).

Have to actually think about being on the road again is actually pretty cool (you get so used to it in a car). Stalled it once (or twice), went to 2nd instead of 4th once but generally felt i did OK!

Here was the general route i took... Best bit was the Welcome Bay Road!!:

    View Route on Google Maps

Attached is the before and after pics... Thanks for all the help from the forums in picking bike, picking gear, mechanical questions etc...

    Simon, Noob Biker.

Great choice for a starter bike - they're great bikes!

Take it easy, clean her often, and find someone to teach you about basic maintenance. (Regular cleaning is good, because it's a good way to check over the bike for any little bits and pieces that might need fixing. )

Nice bike - and nice gear! I wish my gear was all shiny and new like that!

I still remember my first ride on the road and the grin I came back with. (BTW that dog should be your avatar.)
