    It received:
    - New plug
    - New exhaust gasket
    - Carb setting checked
    - Air filter cleaned
    - Oil changed
    - New clutch
I have no idea what most of this involves. I understand most of the words but wouldn't have a clue how any of them were done/would work. Any suggestions?
Well, you descriptions are a bit confusing, but glad to hear that you made it home. You would know if you had seized it because you wouldn't be able to kick it over. They generally only do this if your oil/fuel mixture is too lean. I presume that you are putting two stoke oil in the oil tank??

If it wouldn't start because you had your lights on that would indicate that you aren't getting enough omph from the battery to create sufficient spark, which could mean that your battery is bad or alternator isn't generating enough charge.. Hell, it could be lots of things. Best take it back as Gammaguy says.

I really enjoyed my ride to Godley house.. errm Duvauchelles lol even on a slippery brand new michellin ;-) Cheers Chris

Yep taken it back and am bikeless once more. Didn't have a clue what it was from the outside so they're going to take it apart and hopefully I'll have it back tomorrow.
I like how I can be on the side of a busy street at 10 in the morning, stranded on the footpath with people walking around me as I kick and kick my bike and nobody says a thing. I think one old guy even laughed at me.
But that's ok, they probably figured they couldn't help anyway.

    Prick.
Yeah, well - the vast majority of people aren't bikers, and never were. They don't know how to help, and are possibly even intimidated ;o.

    Yep good point. Taken back.
What happened to you last night? After I passed you I figured we'd catch up at Duvauchelles but then you just sort of disappeared?

hmmm... not good mate, could be anything from drive chain to engine or gearbox... who did the rebuild and be sure to see what the bore and piston look like befor they reasemble it, take photoes and post em up... or if in my neck of the woods Im happy to look at it.

LOL naaaaa man, heres the findings on my race bike siezures: crank spreading, pilot jet blocked, heat seizure, exhaust leak, carb/reed block leak, thers also blowen crank seal and wrong plugs.. all can cause a seizure.. farking strokers but still I persevere.

Well I managed to get it to the workshop today, though it didn't sound too happy about it, having stopped on me once. I'll be hearing what they have to say about it tomorrow which will hopefully resolve the problem.
Took many more kicks than usual to get it going today and has been a lot more boggy on take off.

I would take photos and such but I honestly don't know how to take it apart, given it a go before but didn't get very far, couldn't work out how to get the fairings off, wouldn't have a clue how to reach the engine proper.
If it's not resolved once I get it back, anyone is welcome to have a poke round it and see if they find anything.

Do CPIT or anywhere else do something like Summer courses in mechanics for useless people like me? I'd just like to get to the stage that I can at least have a look and understand what's inside the bike.

Man I'm posting way too much.

    wrong, post more.

what I think D means is try get some photos at the repair shop, ask if you can take 1 or 2 (you can decide if you want to spin a BS story about having photos on the inside of your bike)

try get a few in good light.

something to look at and judging by the sounds you were hearing the power valve may have shit its self, hope not cos when they fall apart on the RG they can fuk ya piston up.

It just went in for a good service, also to fix whatever was happening to it before. Ended up with a new clutch, previous problem fixed (whatever it was).

Come along to Wed night fix it nights. Tops crew and very helpful, just don't be afraid to ask.

I bought a book online and it's helped stacks, except electrics which I glazed over then skipped passed. I am hoping to make it into a pdf (for "backup" purposes) so if I do you could have a look at that.

Could be a problem with ring seal. Doesn't sound like a seizure to me, you would now be noticing a big difference in compression just kicking it over. The powervalves are known to stick on rg150s and maybe in full open position. Couldalso be the crank seal leaking crankcase pressure or failed reed the options are endless. The powervalves on M model RGVs used to fall into the cylinder from time to time with permanent results...don't think it's an issue with rg150's.

Yeah, none of that would do your racing much good eh. Never had any of those problems on my Yamaha's, must be a Suzuki? lol

I would be checking simple things first and upper cylinder lubrication is obviously critical. McWild you haven't answered the very basic question of whether you are actually putting two stoke oil in the oil tank? I presume these have one and don't need premix.

well whatever was wrong, hope its fixed and running sweet.

those lil 150's go well, much better than the more exotically named RGV 150 that came after.and dont even mention the FXR
