    Inexperience. Is it worth this?

    A close friend of mine has a son who is an engineer...he has done well with his job and never had to worry about money .driving dodge rams,,,,, cruising on bayliners etc,,he has worked hard for his money and deserves it....
    ...............
    well this guy deceided the wants to into endruo ridining
    as far as i know , he has done little riding
    so comes home with a brand new DRZ 400...$9000 worth...
    first day he flips it...broke the bars in two....
    so fixes that,,, and decided to go for a bit of a ride in the weekend
    bit of a fun day i think ...offroad.....
    well away he goes
    last race he powers it on...
    big off... westy pac called out...
    just had a call
    he has brocken his back ,,,, neck . ruptered splein and a few ribs...
    just goes to show ya...
    money doesnt give ya the experiance

    Yes ,its like some of the guys up this way.They havent been on a bike for decades (farm bikes at that) and they are buying these brand new harleys and ducs....i know its fun, but what happened to a bit of an apprenticeship.. the german helmets are gonna help to if they come off.

    it's easy for newbies,and especially reborns,like myself,to be to complacent,and think they've got it sussed.but new bikes can sure pack a hell of a punch.

    haha scares me to think what may happen to many of my mates. we have all just finished our engineering degrees and lots of us heading out to the big world with reasonable salaries and little to spend it on. alot of guys i know thinking an ideal bike to get is an r6/r1 as a step up from their pushy or 50cc scooters - same thing for alot of dirt riders. heres to hoping they all figure it out prior to a visit from the st. johns crew.

    Yup... Sometimes I'm glad that I have only got a 600 after 32 years of riding....... Never had the money to buy something bigger.

    I guess I have always has a bit of respect for power.... the XL125 was a real grunter when I was 6.

    i can relate tho, i know a dude who is keen on a new r6, when the last bike he rode (nsr250) he binned it trying out a wheelie.. go figure

    iv had my spada for 5 yrs now, maybe one day ill get a 400 ?

    Awww sh1t man that sucks for him. Its amazing how rusty you can get even after a few months off a bike let alone riding one for the first time and trying to use all the power available. Hope its not permanent damage for his sake and he can get back on the bike when he feels ready

    Im all for giving it ago , but pushing the limits has some not good effects sometimes . What else can be said , hope he is well looked after chances are he has medical insurance

    No reports on the young fella yet..
    sort of makes you think though...
    the whole thing happened in 2secs..
    changed his life forever..
    love off roading ..done a bit in the past.. think i will stick to adventure bikes.
    slow down.. look at the scenery and take a few pics.
