For general consumption humans, the advisable route shall be one which deviates from the "little blue line".

Thank you for your time. I also expect, once the proposed route is choosen, a full analysis of the road surface be undertaken and any imperfections, noted and reported.

    Bags not!
But you're already doin such a fine job of it yourself .. it would only be fair that you continue on with that fine analysis.

I was thinking of doin that route clockwise which would make the Maihiihi road turn right onto Tauraroa valley road, as like you said if you miss that turnoff your in the gravel..

Did you take Barber/Rangitoto Rd ? If so what's its condition atm ? And how much traffic did you come across on those roads ??.. the few times i've been down there they have been really quiet, which is what we'd want.
    1. Yep - turn right from Maihiihi onto Tauraroa Valley Rd. It is a T intersection in fact from Maihiihi Rd....Left leads to dreaded unsealed crap.....go right, young man....

    2. Have not been as far south as Barber - Rangitoto so don't know.

The bits I have done out there were pretty quiet both weeks but every so often you hit something unexpected. e.g.1. Yesterday I met a camper van coming the other way on the unsealed section Of TV Rd.......e.g.2. I met a pedal biker coming round the corner on the wrong side of the road...guess she thought she had the road to herself.....(I heard the "twang" over the bike noise......) e.g.3. Farmers use the roads as ancilliary driveways....heads up for tractors emerging from gateways without even a look - two of 'em yesterday.....my turn to "twang"......

I thought I'd try you lot before telling the world my problems, since we probably have the highest number of geeks in our little group. And no one has talked for a while. Must be christmas rush.

Under "your notifications" for the past 2 weeks or so it says I have 1 unread profile message. I go to my profile page and I've seen everything but the bloody thing doesn't clear. ?????? And yet when I get another one it says I have 2, after I've read it, it goes back to 1 instead of 0.

Does anyone know what the problem could be or who I should fire a PM to? It's not a big deal but is just starting to annoy me.

private message or visitor message? i noticed that the icon of the private messages looks like a normal unread icon when it has been read. and when your PM has not been read it has the letter coming out of the envelope.

Visitor. I've permanetly got a bold 1 showing, click on it and I've always got 1 unread visitor message.

Maybe it's a secret message and I'm just not cool enough to read it. Maybe it's from Yoda

Sorry to hear mate. Have a good flight, unless of course you're planning on riding Trumpy? If not, she may get lonely while you're away so maybe will possible need some company or someone to take her for a little ride so she doesn't feel left behind???
