Is this "target fixation" as well?
How many times do you see it? A vehicle (not always a cage but often enough) coming through a RH bend on the highway and crossing the centre line. Lots of times, that's how often. And I can tell you for why - it is because the driver watches the centre line and draws closer and closer to it until it is crossed. Instead of watching the LH line or edge of road and keeping away from the centre line. Try it some time. Fix the eyes on the left hand edge of the road as you go round the right hander and see how much further from the centre line you stay.......
Why bring this up? Because this morning on a narrow rural road, some dork in a van came through in the opposite direction, occupying half of my lane, that's why!.....fortunately I was way left, but I bet half of New Zealand heard the "twang!".......%#$^$*%@@!!!
