    Radiator recoring?

can you get radiators for MX bikes re-cored? mine has cracked, no bends or anything, just got a crack, attempted to have it repaired, but no go, so can they be recored or where is cheapest to replace?

Mine had a crack and Barry Senn fixed it ok. Unfortunately Barry met an untimely appointment with his maker and is no longer fixing radiators in this world.

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

Mine had a hair line crack down one of the cores, Barry fixed it and its still good 4 years later. But yes, it would take skill to weld such thin Aluminum.

you could try getting someone to run some aluminium solder into the crack, usually its done with the oxy/accetelene gas plant, i think its also called easi-flow. i did it on one of my radiators when it cracked, havent had any problems with it yet, i was done 3 years ago, (have i just jinxed myself??)

I've got one in need of repair, twisted in all three dimensions but doesn't leak at all! A bitch to get the shrouds on though, as nothing lines up.
    Cheers,

wheel and frame in cambridge do a good job of radiators, Barry Senn was the man for sure at fixing them, and a trip to his workshop in pukekohe was always interesting to see what he was fixing up, not a lot of places will even touch motocross radiators,

You should get your sponsers to shout you 1 lol
Checked you options are cheaper honda seam to have a hold on the market they said any other jap brand no prob as they all get the core/radiators from same place as all jap bike makers but they wont supply cores for honda to anyone but honda. So only option is more expenses longer cores cut down to fit.

ebay is actually $170US, which converted is almost $350, safer to go with econo.

SURELY there is a cheaper radiator out there!!
