Sack of wood in the middle of the road. Wow

Riding out Raglan last night, two up, last sharp corner before TeUku, you know the rising left hander after the bridge.
A large white sack of wood in the middle of the road half way round, I am glad that I was at legal speed and not fully cranked over in the turn, and it was still light enough to see it without lights, even though I was looking into the setting sun. Just had time to swerve around it.
I know that some riders take that corner very fast, Wow... I would have hate to hit that sack at any speed
There are advantages of having your daughter on the back and (good fatherly) keeping to the speed down.

PS, Some good soul was stopping to pick it, just as I passed.

You should have given the bike a bit of stick......

OK that was pretty lame............but clean, unlike the other combination of 'wood' and 'sack' I thought of.......

local rag reported a hose tied between two trees on a busy residential street. that street is one of my main routes to and from town... just lucky it was sunday morning and not monday otherwise it would have had me. several cars narrowly missed it, including the cop who cut it down. was only visible from a few meters away apparently. sick bastards... wish theyd finger print the hose and punish whoever put it up there.

Reminds me of that thing where you have two people on both sides of the road and pull an invisible rope as people drive past... Except less safe.
Not that i'd ever do it... To anyone not driving a Rav 4 or a BMW, those people need to be kept on their toes!

Yeah man, I've had fucking tyres in the middle of a blind corner, ice cream containers full of oil and even the odd squashed popsum or two.

    Anyone else live near Beachaven?
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

Shiiiit if I hadn't read that thread it... it could have sounded like some form of kinky gay ceremony that takes place at Rakaia Gorge...

Going down the motorway on the way home today, there was an aluminium ladder in the centre lane !! Must have fallen off the back of a ute or truck.
From the very quick look at got at it looked like it had been run over too. Glad I was in that lane and hit it !!

I hit a fishing line that was tied across the old Mangere bridge doing a litte under 40kph on my bicycle. Thankfully it hit below the handlebars so the bike took the brunt of the impact. I managed to stay upright but by the time I stopped the line had stretched so that it made a nasty cut into my left leg.

Two up on a dirt bike, fanging it through a road in the forest, some piece of shit had tied fencing wire across the track, It wrapped around our legs, and around the back wheel, Had a massive crash.

MX boots were the only reasons our feet weren't chopped off.
