- Apparently it's dangerous to ride around a corner with just one hand on the bars.
- Living Dangerously... is not being worried about "going off" mid corner losing focus and going down the road, then experiencing that short time of being unconscious only to wake, finding yourself surrounded by people trying to help, then realising you still have a firm hold of the situation.
I can see the police report now.
Now of course if you had a pillion on board when you went around the corner I'd be asking two questions...
- which way were you leaning when the experience occurred?...and
- did your pillion know?
- having L plates can take on a whole new meaning
I'm going to quietly wander off and look at another part of this forum...
You may still have to pay the excess yourself, the insurer usually instructs the repairer to collect it before he releases the vehicle. The excess is payable regardless of fault, Who pays it is not the repairer's problem either. The insurer will pay him for the work done less the excess, if he doesn't get it from you then you will not get your bike back !!
As you stated previously that you have a $730.00 excess that is what you will need.
When you talk to the other party it may pay to get them to write the cheque for the excess now rather than later.
If for whatever reason they decline to pay then you take the bill to your local court & start a claim against them in the small claims court.(tribunal)
Assuming that you get a judgement against them(her) the courts will then have the money deducted from her earnings. This can take months.

If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
