Actually most insurers will authorise release if the third party has been identified. No admission is required (think about it - how many people are going to admit it was there fault?).

It will be interesting to see wether this particular insurer will authorise release then aye.

My experience is that the excess must be paid before the vehicle can be removed in this type of situation.

Basically a contents claim for motorcycle gear that went horribly wrong. Final straw was receiving a threatening letter from AMI after submitting their customer service survey. I didn't respond to AMI, but I gave the letter to an insurance broker and as far as I'm aware, that letter was photocopied and viewed by almost every other insurance company with disbelief!

AMI suck!

I'm with AMI, 3rd party insurance.
I signed up and forgot to pay.
1 month later they ring up, just a friendly reminder, that I should probably pay them.
They gave me another month to pay, that was nice of them.

Sounds like it's already waived jafar!

A lot depends on the insurance company, policy, circumstances etc! Some policies will waive excess if details of the at fault person are given. Some wait for liability to be accepted.
