Who says harley riders don't wave to sport bike riders.

On the other hand...there are far more serious topics under discussion as well...http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=20619

The missus and I have just spent a great couple of days touring along the West Coast. Marvellous roads and great weather bought out a host of motorcycles. Often stopping at lookouts or cafes for coffee we would join or be joined by other riders and conversations would strike up as they do when you meet like minded people that would rather be on a bike than doing anything else.
On the road oncoming bikes would invariably wave or nod as we passed. There were the full range of bikes out in these last few days - sports, tourers, dual purpose, and cruisers. There was even a young fella making very good speed up Lewis Pass yesterday on a GN250 who waved very ethusiastically.
The exception was, of course, the Harley riders. Not one returned a wave the whole trip. At one point I thought one did wave back and that was the exception that proved the rule, but as we passed I saw it was a Boulevard and so the natural order was restored to the universe.
While I would like to be charitable and suggest Harley riders are too busy hanging on to wave, I suspect they are just too up themselves to acknowledge lesser brands.![]()
I was riding in the north island the last two days and same thing. Lots of bikes all shapes and colours and lots of waves. Hell even one or two Harley riders!!! REALLY IT DID HAPPEN
I also noted with pleasure the number of cars that just kept left to allow passing without crossing the centre line - did my thing for motorcycling and gave them an enthusiastic wave and thumbs up everytime! Now my right hand is killing me as I spent most of my travels waving with the left and steering with the right![]()
I noticed that too. Travelling from Taupo to Welly on Sunday, most cars moved to the left. And yes, I was waving lots too.
As for the Harleys...I stopped waving and nodding because I never get a response from them
And I thought we're all one big happy biker family....????
Well that's it. I'm giving up motorcycling. Just. Not. On.
