On another forum, i'm not as much of a whore as that sounds... some fella had a stable of them red italian things, including the desmo and a 1098r... He rode both at the track and on the road and in both cases found that the 1098r was by FAR the better bike... go figure!!!

I know of a guy that bought two of them, one for the road/track and the other one is kept in a glass case in his house with 9k's on it. Hes keeping the glass case one as an investment and the road/track bike gets used every week
