Mrs Cowboyz first time on norman

So she wants me to post up a little report on her first ride on norman (aka a Honda CB250RS on loan from Dogsnbikes)

I think I was about as nervous at being the instructor role as Mrs Cowboyz was at being the pilot role. Running through the basics on where all the controls are and how to start the bike and she was off.

Spent an hour in the carpark and she didnt get her knee down. In fact, nothing hit the ground at all. She only stalled once and was confidently doing U turns and figure 8s at the end of the session. Taking off and stopping without the engine revving at all seemed effortless. Top marks.

I going to put an extra lock on the 9 now..........

    pics link in my sig.

Huge thanks to DognBikes who has entrusted his bike to us (well to Bobbie after me falling off his scooter yesterday)

    Well Done.
See I told you that you could do it..... Well, not in so many words.
    Keep up the good work.

Figure of 8's in the first lesson.... Heck, at that rate, yep, an extra lock for the 9 is well in order!

    Good work you two.
The little RS is a great learners bike. (even teaches noobies how to kick start).
When teaching karen, i kept reminding her that the front brake was her most stable friend. Getting on/off the bike. Walking it about. Lifting it off it's side stand etc, she always used it as an anchoring force. Never let the bike get away from her.
    Keep it up guys.

    Speaking of kickstarting...

This is after about 10 minutes on the bike. I too am a fan of the front brake to stabilize the bike when you dont want it to fuck off from under you. First thing I told her was to hold the front brake and explained why and she said "ok, which ones the front brake........."

Not going to be long me thinks

Looks like things are going pretty well. Think Mrs C needs to do a write-up and let us know what she thinks of her instructor and Norman.

That`s awesome to hear mate after reading about your reservations yesterday.

Either your a good instructor or she`s a good pupil.

Or maybe a combination of both.

    Either way

dont know if I am a good instructor. I just said the ground hurts and to stay as far away from it as possible. Fair bit of natural ability there me thinks. She has kind of ridden one of my old dirt bikes before. An IT200 2 smoker. She got on one side of it and fell off the other and that was the end for her and bikes. 8 years later she is keen as again
