I haven't taken my 650 to redline in 1st but it seems like it can only go to about 60km/h, just like a 250
Motorcycling is like life - it's about the journey, not the destination.

Nothing special here, just 70k's in first, 100k's in second.
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

Don't want to try.. why push the bike til it breaks?

But I think around 80k in first.

But it doesn't like sitting 50 and up in first!

When I test rode the ZX14 after they first came out, I bounced it off the limiter at 185kmh in 1st and after that you may as just well snick her into
    3rd
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Generally its done by the manufacturer to allow the bike to take off with more grace than if it was geared for say, 50kph in 1st, which would mean even a tremor on the throttle would make for a messed up take-off (splat)

Ahh because most of the time the big thous etc you are pootling at about 2-3,000 rpm. and have the balls there when you need it.

The VifFerraRi used to do around 238km/h in first, but I can't confirm this figure as it's well over the speed limit, y'know.
I've geared it down heaps for communtering, with a 5-tooth front sprocket and a 52-tooth rear, so I can win the traffic light grand prix and do massive wheelies. Another benefit is the speedo now reads over 350 km/h around town! Woohoo!

My workday seems geared WAAAY down too: every second feels like a minute, every minute like an hour, and every hour like sitting in a jumbo from SF to AK.
I hope I can recover enough to not kill myself from residual boredom on the ride home...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
