Pegs, because I like forward controls and foward controls with boards is rather ugly.
Pegs also scrap less due to better clearance.
But thats me. A lot of people like boards due to comfort of a fully supported foot.
Pillions? Well if they on my bike they have to tuck it in and not complain or it will be them walking home!

Boards
I just like 'em and find them less tiring than pegs.
They do scrape a bit but...meh
Neca eos omnes. Deus suos agnoscet
But I havent tried floorboards yet. I had enough bloody trouble finding the more forward controls on the Vulcan after the GSXF and actually put my foot down on the road several times the first few days until I got used to leaving my left foot on the gear peg at lights... I might get some highway pegs mounted one day as well.
Then came the day when cages were confined to zoos.. and the bipedals ruled the earth again..Tu@ advt # 666 Return of the beasties
Pegs on highway bars rock the most! Personally I would prefer forward controls with pegs on my M50, apparently boards are more comfortable on long distances.

I guess I would have the same trouble as you for a while ..... looking for the pegs/gears/brakes.
I am looking at changing over to "the dark side" at some stage .... just for comfort on longer runs, and to provide a backrest for my wife, which will help her feel more secure and comfortable.
I'm going to do research about different bikes ... probably in the 800 - 900 - 1100cc range. I don't see an need to go bigger.
I appreciate everyone's comments and input about their bikes and experience.
Cheers.
floor boards over pegs every time
more comfortable, you can move your feet around on a long trip
questions about looks???? bikes are for riding on not looking at
I like the boards on the C50T. It's a biggish bike and there's plenty of room to move around on longer rides. I haven't worn the original warning knobs out yet, but the bike corners well enough for a cruiser. Although on our trip last week, as I was having fun up the Kaimai's heading over to Tauranga and scraping the knobs with alacrity - much to the wife's annoyance as she hates the sound of it - we were passed by a VW 4Motion V6! He was going for it!
Pillion pegs are fine according to the pillion, and as her opinion counts I think that must mean she's comfy.
As for looks.. no bike is better looking than mine...!
Performance? Everyone we've ridden with, questions its capacity as it can haul when asked! When assured it's "only 805cc", they ask if I've modified it!![]()
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
Yes ... without having tried them, that's what I was thinking ...
I hadn't thought about the looks side of things .... I don't think it matters either way ... ? For me, it would be about the comfort and usability .... as in ... are they (boards) are a hassle with easily being grounded .... ?
Cheers.
It comes down to how you ride, Grubby has a Dragstar with boards and has comment he has to slow down on some corners when we can go a bit faster. In saying that, his 1100cc drag is quick to catch up after the turn.
My bike is a 45ci (750cc) V4, and I've ridden with me plus my friend, making around 200kg of 6 foot tall men on my bike, and it wasn't wickedly fast bit it could do it and I wasn't slow getting up to speed.
Main issue there was the suspension bottoming if I turned to fast or wasn't watching for pot holes.
So I think 800cc and up is a good start for a cruiser if you are carrying someone.
And frankly most people aren't as large as me and I can hoon around a bit on my 45ci, you should have no issues with a wife on the back of an 800cc boulevard.
Must say.. my points are to Vulcans and Dragstars.. hands down. Prefer them big time over Boulevards

Boards, very comfortable, especially on the long hauls
Dont scrape them much cos I try not to corner hard enough for that to happen.
Arguing with an Engineer is like wrestling a pig in mud.
After a while you realise the pig is enjoying it.
Im a boards convert aslo, my first cruiser had pegs and with pretty much one position for your feet I found my arse gettin really numb on any rides over 45 min. Now with boards I can move around a bit and can ride for upto 2 hrs without any loss of arse sensation![]()

DuuuuuCaaaaaaTiiiiiiiiiiii
I'm pleased to hear that you haven't lost arse sensation Griffin !!
Yes I thought that about boards .... being able to shift your feet on a long trip. That appeals to me. From replies so far .... most people that have used .. or are currently using boards, like them!
Cheers.
