I've been there 3 times I think now, wicked cross country last year, training with Birchy & a week.
There's obviously enough a fair bit of farm land which is mostly rolling, some decent hills, the one opposite the house has some steep enough parts.
The bush parts vary, quite a bit of bulldozed track, some very tricky gully stuff ( Birch failed one crossing on 4 different bikes, needless to say no one else made it either ).
As it's Northland, mostly clay tracks.
The MX track is ok, needed a clean up last time I was there, tracks up here are helluva hard to maintain through winter if they get ridden & Mike's one got thrashed last winter.
The single toughest part is that the signage is not the best, but there is a heap of good riding & if you want some good single track stuff, there are tracks on the house side of the road for experienced riders.
Oh Mike can ride, rides Expert class in the National Enduro's, chop would be happy I believe he's going WR250 Husky this year.
Well my XR200 gearbox broke (be putting it on TM next week for parts and lookin for something else...maybe a lite 2smoker) so will probably ride one of their hire bikes.
This is what they have on offer.
Our fleet is constantly changing (and breaking down!) but currently we have: Yamaha peewee50, Honda xr70, CMG 110 pit bike, CMG 150, suzuki TS 125, Suzuki TF 125, Honda XR 200, Yamaha XT250, 2x Honda CRM250's, '06 Yamaha WR250F (coming sept- Mike's new 07 KTM 250EXCF!!)
Have you called Econno honda to see how much a gerabox is? Probably get more for it as a working bike.
Oh and just borrow MXhenmans bike. He doesn't use it..... lol!!
Well I kinda think I'd get more for it parted out than if I spent say $300 to make it a goer. I can't be bothered parting it up so prob sell it as a complete rolling chassis with heaps of extras, like...2 rear shocks in good nick, extra 'set of '98 front forks with triple clamp- in good nick, spare '98 frame, spare 17" wheel with new bearings and 50% tyre, 3 extra rear sprockets, spare reupholstered seat, extra coil etc etc Motor has had a new piston, rings and clutch kit from previous owner. Goes sweet except for the gearbox. Apparently it's the fork selector needs replacing. Not worth the effort splitting the box....well actually after riding Frosty's KX125 it kinda hooked me into getting a lighter and quicker 2 stroke bike. Seeing as he doesn't want to let his one go and now my wife (in a moment of weakness) saying go look for something around the $1500 mark...well I can't resist!!!
250 or 125 ?? they tell me the go at the moment is 125 with a144 kit fitted...apparently theres a couple of gncc guys that hve retired there big bore bikes in favour of 125 yamis with 144 kit
tim paid $3000 for his 2002 yz 250 with flywheel weight and fmf fatty,...bike was mint

Actually I felt quite confident on the KX125, I could pretty much ring it out on the short track and it seemed to hook the corners really well. Mind you the KDX220 wasn't half bad either although it tended to creep off the corners a bit. So yeah based on that ride I'd be quite happy on a snappy 125
So you have one in mind ?? or should i keep my eyes and ears open for ya ??
