Well that was a great afternoon and evening of biking indeed
Got home from work, pulled in the drive to see the flatmate finishing off a clean of the mighty ZZR. I helped him reassemble her, and she was all go for her first ride since some much needed TLC after acquisition.
So off we shot, through the old faithful roads around maraetai, clevedon, twilights, and back home. A couple of stops along the way to chase out little niggles, but it seems all is well. A few things needing more attention, but all in all she is coming right!
So we had time back at home to shove two pieces of toast in my face and remembered to grab my camel back (DAMN it was hot today...) and off we shoot for the swarm
Shot the breeze with Toto, and soon enough Mike and Trace arrived from a pootle northward, and Toto weeping of "Why wasnt i there?"
Mike shot for home, so onward we 4 charged... all the way to daikoku for noodles! ("You hungry?" "Yeah, you hungry?" "Yeah, i'm hungry, you hungry?" "Yeah, i could eat")
After tales of new twistie roads with blind crest speed hump and airborne hornets, we saddled up our mighty steeds. After threats of Trace attacking my tinsel'd up bike before the evening was out, we were on our way.
No takeoffs that i was aware of behind me, but i did get the front a little breathing room on one
Back down again and on to the St Helliers GP. A couple of rounds, and i piked to head for home. These early morning starts havent become routine again yet, and i absconded before Trace could follow through with her threats of grevious bodily harm toward my beloved horneti was thinkin it was time to take it off, but now i think i'll leave it on there just for you Trace

IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!
Do the peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat!
yeah you would! just you wait... give me two minutes alone with her and your bike will feel like a real bike again!
good to catch up guys... see ya saturday!
I hsould have kept riding... can't sleep as had very early night last night... but off to sleep soon hopefully, as early morning tomorrow!
Yea , how rude is that - the GSXRs going for a ride by themselfs and yet having the nerve to show up to a hornet swarm......they wanna ride more than us hornets - that means war.
I believe I have won the riding war already by needing a new set of tyres on the small hornet only 5 weeks after the previous ones have been put onwe pay for the fun we are having I guess.
Nice swarm tonight. Daikoku noodles have me addicted. Did the St. helliers Gp a few times and we got Tracey annoyed coz the poor girl had to keep doing U-turns. Aparently GSXRs dont like tight turns. Sad really considering how beautivul bikes they are but not so functional - sort of like a dolled up blonde on high heels which can not run the distance to the bus stop coz the heels will break, and ends up miissing the bus - looks good but not functional![]()
Pootling was a bit too short for my liking today, but at least got to conserve some rubber till I can get the white princess some new shoes.
cheers for fun night boys and Trace.
screw you too... gixers turn just fine... i just have fears of tight turns as that was what i was doing when the oogies came into use! so thanks for pointing out im a chickenshit!AND for your information... i made it around every one without any problems.. just slower and wider than the rest of you... be nice to those of us who are cautious! geez, why do you think us gixers like to avoid you honda riders ah.... constantly taking the shit out of us!

A Brazilian cocktail?? The mind boggles...
So, GSXRTrace and I organised a little pootle - she lives near where I work, so we decided to go for a gentle ride before the swarm. I, being retarded, misplaced my wallet, so I stripped all the cash I could find ($32) when we dropped off at home. From there we meandered around the shore, finding all the roads that looked like spaghetti, avoiding the roadworks where we could.
From the Shore, we headed north, up Albany hill (MBB almost getting called a Squid for a solitary overtaking move up the left which turned out to be a bad idea), then left at Dairy Flat, on into Cow-Copper-Copper where we made use of the petroleum transfer process. The afternoon was hot, and the tar was slippery, so we used commonsense and caution, and kept our speeds close to the limit. Much more of this, and I'll need to hand across my man card and trade the Gixer for a Honda or Vespa... We saw loads of bikes coming towards us, mostly cruisers 2up with luggage. We got overtaken by a gent on a Buell, neat sounding bike.
Into Wellsford, obeying the speed limits, passing the first Police Oriface about 4 k out. Then into the Caltex for a Big Ben pie and some more fuel. We stood and chatted and ate, and scoped out a not so good looking ginga with two really hot chicks. His cousins perhaps?
So, by this stage, it was after 6, and we needed to get to the library to return some overdue books (Trace had Kung Fu for dummies, I had a Jackie Collins novel). So, given the importance of the destination, we went back via State Highway 1, so named because it's a single laned goat track.
Traffic was slow, which meant our life in the cannonball lane was easier. Turns out that GSXRTrace can ride, and she mixes skills with common sense - much better than the mix of luck and ignorance I ride with.
Madam kept to a modest 1*0 on the motorway. I mean, old people fuck faster than you ride on the motorway! If they didn't want us to ride fast, they would have put speed limits with some sort of policing in place...

We arrived at the Library to find a GPX, Badger8, Toto, and a blinding amount of tinsel. Offers of Daikoku were declined, I had less than a dollar on me, and scoot was just about out of deuce again... So, a very gentle pootle home to the batcave, with the fuel light brighter than the sun. Scoot was coughing as I rode to the servo this morning, so it was a close run thing.

in my defense... i was well breaking the speed limit, and yet was still being left for dust on the motorway... im a poor little girl and cannot afford tickets, let alone losing my licence!
but man i do keep an eye on my speedo... its far too easy to be cruising along getting into the ride and then glance down and "oh shit" .... off the throttle
was a nice afternoon ride! even if i was the speed control warden!
speeding is bad!
Well, there's an easy solution - break your speedo pick up like have, and hey presto, no more worries about keeping the speed limit.
I was behaving, there have been reports of madbikers doing flat out in sixth along that stretch...
