Burn them! Burn them!!
OOps...I mean, ban them.
Burn them! Burn them!!
OOps...I mean, ban them.
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
i'm with Quasi and QkChk,
mark, you got to pull your head in... remember its not been that long since we all had to experience not nice stuff and it sucks having it spread all over a public forum creating a lot more hurt and pain for no reason....
Taking it to the track thanks to: KIWIBIKE INSURANCE & PIRELLI TYRES, EXPERIENCE MOTORCYCLES, EBC Brakes, SUPERSPROX Sprockets, TSUBAKI Chains, RST Leathers, REPSOL Oils, FutureGrafix, Autolink
Yeah, I don't understand the rush to post news like this. Generally it'll be time enough to find out when it's on the News. A life has been lost and a family is grieving and they have my sympathy but...
Not having a go at you Mark, I feel the same whoever posts it.
Having said that I'm off to look for something more cheerfull.
There is a grey blur, and a green blur. I try to stay on the grey one. - Joey Dunlop
Agreed.
Edit: with the votes...
On the contrary i think having them on the site reminds us we need to take care and maybe that depressing should make some realise they arn't as bulletproof as they think they are.
guarantee kb deaths would go up without these threads.... but you wouldn't hear about them....
but you would because any kb death would still be posted....
so what you are then saying is since they arnt part of our "community"
They dont get a mention?
Nice cult.
Bunch of softies.
But sure, live in your little happy place where nobody dies.
As much as Skiddy can be a pain in the arse sometimes, it's not fair to lay this solely on him. He's not the only one to post this sort of thread. I agree tho - I'd rather not see these threads, but they're not all attributable to Skidmark.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
we will remember them
I think it's fair to post details of fatalities, I like to know who's been killed so I can work out if it's someone I know. I agree with Skidmark on this. If you don't like them, don't read them. Title/subject was pretty obvious.
Please don't take the 'anti' votes personally, I don't think anyone is going down that route.
But I don't feel we need these things posted to remind us to take care, I do that every time I ride as I'm sure do you and others.
As for the 'bulletproof' ones, this type of post won't have any effect as they think they are bulletproof after all, it's the old 'won't happen to me' syndrome.
I think it's probably ok to post something if as I said earlier there is a personal involvement, but even then my personal opinion is that this is not the sort of thing for internet forums - consider the feelings of the persons family & friends, it's bad enough when these stories are all over the news but to commit them to internet gossip is tasteless in my book.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
Always a sad thing to hear/read.
Maybe we should keep this thread on topic and continue the discussion about banning such threads here:

Just my 2c...
Diarrhoea is hereditary - it runs in your jeans
If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...
Okay instead of bitching back and forth pointlessly lets come up with a real solution.
How about a section for deaths/ biker accidents on police releases etc.
And to see the section you must join that sub forum, if you don't want to see the threads you don't join...
simple?
You would be wrong in what you have thought I was implying.
And I have a life thanks - it doesn't include subscribing to police comms notifications so I can tell when a guy dies simply because he rides a motorbike.
Celebrate the living, remember and honour friends and family who pass, and leave strangers be.
Peace out.
