From my current predicament, o-ring chains are the best lube.
Fuck heavy duty, that shit only lasted me 1200k's. Oiled twice a damn week out of paranoia. Not enough, IT WASN'T ENOUGH GRRRRRRR.
So on tomorrow, it will be:
'Oh hi, I'm looking for a new o-ring? Oh you do? LOVELY!'

The kind of oil/wax you use isn't as important as doing it regularly though - I can't belive how much Scottoiler charge for a bottle and a tube though![]()
In space, no one can smell your fart.
How good is your lube?

Definitely a chain wax, Maxima is good, started using Spectro wax though as it's in stock at the shop I seem to be going to now and i'd say it's probably on a par with Maxima wax.
Don't forget though apply to a warm chain after a ride.
Anyone remember Duckham's 'boil in a tin' ? Loved that stuff. It went something like this... Get home and clean bike, whip chain off, clean in a solvent bath, coil chain and place on top of solid grease in big flat tin, place tin on gas burner and watch as chain slowly disappeared into boiling goop, remove chain while still hot and hang over tin to drip cool.... The only chain treatment I've ever had that will last a complete day's riding (MX, RR, enduro, trail).
Of course 'O'ring chains fixed the lube problem, except on the 125s, too much power loss.....
Hmmmm... wonders off to Google Duckhams.......

Could someone please explain to me the pros and cons of Wax vs. Synth oil (gearbox and such) vs Aerosol?
And, what is this flinging who-hah about. Some people beat people up over this one. Fling is dirty and messy, sets like tar. But does this not take grime and dirt with it? That's good, right?
