    Pimp the '07

Reading between the lines, I'm guessing your a bit bored with the novelty of a new bike, which as someone else pointed out soon wears off! Building your own personalised bike out of what is already a damned good bike makes a lot of sense, particularly from the 'toy' aspect - there's a lot of pleasure to be had in creating something, plus all that tinkering in the shed, you can't beat that!

Tis a Yamahahahaha G. Just thrash it like you stole it. Gixxer 4 ever
It really did look very unloved. Specially as it was next to the R1 that the whole crowd wanted to look at. Gixxer 4 ever

I reckon that sort of thing makes a fun, one off bike that suits it's owners tastes. Relative performance advantages (if any) of a new bike over something like that would be irrelevant on the road.

i just cant see how you could be happy with a R1 after you last few bikes, i think you should re-think your options.
i know that the R1 is a fantastic bike, but i cant see you loving it.

Honestly, the best bike ever, and I mean ever, is the Tuono. Nothing compares.

Stock, the newest model has a delay in the response of the throttle, that drove me mad. Apparently a set of pipes and a remap should sort that out. For good throttle response, you want a KTM. Open that throttle just a little, and it wants to take your arms off (yes, some call that snatchy).

But he can't get a KTM (his own limitations) so lets rabbit on about how great they are

Understandable wanting something unique but ai'nt nothing wrong with jappa of the shelf particularly any of the latest sports bikes.
Buy an '09 chuck some cans on it and and be happy 'coz you'll have a weapon in the garage and money in your pocket as opposed to buying something "special". Won't be too many new '09 R1's about for a while anyway.

Give me a break. You can afford a 2009 "big bang" R1. Buy the sucker and forget about blinging someone's used toy.
