    Front light for Djebel/DRZ?

Was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a 'normal' front light that would fit a Suzuki Djebel. Mine has the large round lighthouse on it and I was thinking about putting on a normal dirtbike style front light, possibly from a DRZ. I saw one in a Dirtrider mag that reviewed the bike and it looked good. Also anyone know any good bike wreckers in Auckland, the one on Barrys Point Road never has anything I'm after. Cheers.

Any bike shop can get you one of the Acerbis options.

Keep in mind that some are dirt bike only and have no high beam option.

When you locate a suitable replacement, I would like to buy your "lighthouse" please.

If you do much night riding at all keep the Gerbels light. If you dont do much night riding I'm sure some of the DB1k riders would be keen. I now have two large round headlights on the XTZ at 55/60w and it is miles better than the squre thing with 80/90w on the front of the DR650.

    Cheers R

Only need low beam for a reg/warrant.

Yes I admit it's an excellent light. Even on low beam at night it's comparable to a cars. I didn't want to smash it if I happen to have an off when I go off road. I commute to work but only day shifts. Won't sell it (sorry JD). Was just trying to be cheap to locate a 'spare' from a wreckers off a DRZ rather than buying new. Thanks for the advice.

Re getting a replacement headlight.... went to local wreckers and offshore suppliers and nothing going. Went to Haldanes... For a DRZ set up $450 for the light and $150 for the plastic shroud... gotta be joking! Was looking at the polisport or ascerbis aftermarket ones... Still costly but not $600. SO in short (yea right) if anyone knows of a replacement set up [for my big round lighthouse] for sale or swap I'd be happy to look at it or even pointed in the right direction. Ta

I didn't think Acerbis ones were that expensive? How much were you told? You could spend the $ on a cheap shroud / headlight and then fork a bit for an HID setup to go inside it. Just be aware of the ballast and that you will need a dipping bulb.
There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.

Or just a dipped pattern. They don't require you to have a highbeam.

I was told $256 for the Ascerbis Cyclops. Got a ballpark figure for a Polisport of $150 ish yet I do like the idea of keeping the gerbal original Suzuki but at $600 new that's out of my range. And no luck second hand as yet. The polisport rectangular ones look good too. I also saw a demo on u tube on the difference between stock and an HID bulb on a DRZ... huge difference.

So I'm thinking a new Polisport and surround with an HID bulb at the mo. Will post a pic before and after when I finally get round to it. Whatever 'it' turns out to be.
