Don't listen to him, he has a perfectly fine XL250R at his disposal.
What a snob.
- check radiator fins.
- look for cracks in frame.
- look at sprockets, chain and tyres for wear.
- check the wheel bearings for play.
- make sure the steering head bearing feels nice and smooth.
- dings in the expansion chamber.
- check coolent for discolouration/cloudiness etc.
- ask if the bike has had any suspension work etc.
- check forks are true and feel smooth.
- look for leaking fork seals.
- make sure fork rubbers are sweet.
- check rear shock shaft for unusual wear etc.
- suspension probably shouldn't squeak.
- check that the brake discs arn't warped.
- check compression of motor.
- ask when transmission oil was last done.
- check if the throttle snaps back.
- check to see if the clutch is well adjusted.
- grips ok.
- check spokes are not bent or loose etc.
- check condition of air filter. If its really dirty chances it hasn't been maintained well.
here we go again.
can someone write a kdx200 guide and get it sticked at the top of the forum....
I think when buying any bike you should ask if they have changed any of the jetting
And if they have find out what it is and write it down, most people when doing different jetting write down what they were doing and what the results are, this makes it easier for you should you want to change anything in the near future
we may just go where no ones been
Buy my bike if you want, way better than a kdx http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...110339&ed=true
And it's all up together with nothing needing doing to it.
Other than what was mentioned above ask for receipts of work, esp to engine.
lol I will be a bit rusty!
So riverhead then?
dont worry too much about where, cheese will find an excuse before the weekend..............
