What do you define as a 'run in'?

Don't trust it, or make sure everything is EXACTLY correct on the policy document. ASB insurance is underwritten by IAG, and they will try ANYTHING to get out of paying up!

I had car insurance with them, car was broken in to and they tried to steal it, breaking all the interior and ignition, plus stealing the stereo gear.

IAG then f**ked around asking me all sorts of BS questions for almost 2 months before I finally got them to pay out, after sending letters to the CEO, the Insurance Ombudsman, Insurance Council of NZ, threatening them with Fair Go and Lawyers, and about 100 phone calls!!

I would never insure anything with IAG again (this includes State, ASB, NZI etc).

Ye I've been f**ked around by insurance companies before aswel. Thats why I like dealing with KiwiBike, and I recommend them to everyone. My claim was sorted real quick and they have awesome customer service. Which is ironic because this is why I went to ASB anyway, because I was sick of dealing with f**kwits at National. And just incase anyone reading this works for national I'm not calling you a f**kwit, its just that the branches I've been to all seem a bit dodgey (eg: you can get $11000 cash out without ID?????)

I've been with John Baker for four years now. When I was knocked off my bike by a hoon trying to evade the police (he got 14 months in prison - I got a week in hospital) they were on the ball and sorted my claim within a few weeks.

Last December some stupid, f****n blind bitch reversed into my Road King at the petrol station (all caught on camera). Again, it was sorted within a few weeks.

Their quotes have always been competitive and I can certainly vouch for their being of some use when you need them.

I'm going in on Tuesday again to get a proper quote with excess and everything else.
That's seriously crazy. The wife works for ASB, used to do just insurance for them also, and we don't have our bikes insured with them because even with a discount Kiwibike is cheaper. So there you go.

It does help us at claim times though

As is with anything, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. Alternatively, if you can get a full cover policy for $32 on a $11K bike, I'd be interested to see how accomodating they are at claim and payout time.
