I thought I was doing well with 10 houses in 22 years. I'd kill for my own garage.

I think if you look at the official stress list, moving house and inconsiderate neighbours are front runners, just behind bereavement and divorce, it's no wonder your fed up Babe.

Well here's wishing you and your lovely family some peace in your new home this time Hun. x

My parents moved house constantly while I was growing up, depending on how well the company was doing. Ended up living in an Aunties spare room a couple of times.

Then the upheaval of being a young man about town and having no real place to live, then I skipped to another country and was again always on the move there as well.

By the time I settled back in NZ I went and bought a house and haven't moved since, and If I have my way I never will.

From the front fence to the back fence...Its my domain, and I stalk it like a king.

    My word is law.

Well, apart from the places where the wife has any say in it, which is pretty much the entire house and the entire section.

But the shed is mine, Oh yes, In the shed I AM KING.

well, apart from the fact that we are in the process of turning the entire front half of the shed into a studio for the wife to start her business.

In the back portion of the shed mercifully left to me.....I AM KING.

And in-between the shed and the fence, where the weeds grow, I'm king there as well.

I have moved 20 times in my 20 years of life, including both the northern and southern hemispheres.

    Why do I bother unpacking?

Nope definately cant top 11 moves in 6 & 1/2 years.
Im sure you will find a scantuary one day, that you can plant your feet and settle.

Growing up, my family moved heaps aswell.
Dad worked for the Ministry of Works as an electrician and on the Railways, from one end of the country to the other, Dunedin, Kaikoura, Wellington, Whangarei, Timaru, Twizel, Kaiapoi, Timaru, where I spent most of my childhood. Then I left home at 15, went flatting, ventured to Brisbane for a year when I was 17, then back to Christchurch. I would have moved about 6 times in ChCh, then found my very own little hole I call home. Been here for the last 12 years.
    My total is 16.
Will I move again? Who knows

We were asked to move out after being here for only 4 weeks! The landlord assured us the place was comming off the market and even requested we sign a 12 month lease! Total idiot really. I was ready to punch him out.
It ended up going to mediation and turned into a big mess. My partner was in total shock, tears, the whole works, and the kids were only just getting settled in.. poor little buggers...

It ended up we asked for compensation and we walked away with 7 grand. Not bad but we still have to find another place and the clock is ticking!

I would recommend going into a fixed term lease if it suits your situation.. at least you might get a new bike out of it!!

    Cheers mate
