    RF900 price?

I've scored me a superb new bike, so the RF has to go. I've got someone a little interested, trouble is, don't know what she's worth. Any ideas?

We bought her in London in May '03; since then we've toured England, Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia, down into Europe & around NZ.
Has never let us down, she's been superb.

Fairings have some scrapes on l/h side; a result of me not concentrating Nothing too bad tho'.
Needs a "lug" re-welded on the bottom of the radiator to hold it in place, (I've made up a 'cradle' for the mo' which does the job) and the temp gauge sensor thingy has popped off at some point too.

I've kept a record of all the servicing I've given her, ie, tyres, oil changes, valve clearances, fork seals etc...

    1996 RF900R
    90,000km
    ART pipe
    Eibach springs up front
    K&N air filter
    Michelin Pilot Sport up front
    Michelin Pilot Road on rear
    (both will need replacing soon)

So what should I ask for?

So yeah i'd say around 5k for a 96 with similar km's, good luck with the sale mate

ps: these motors are known to travel upto 300,000km's, very VERY tough motor.

    There's a comforting thought. Mine's just hit 130,000 kms.

Other than a slightly rattly camchain at idle you'd not think it had done that many kms. It certainly doesn't feel old over 2,000 rpm.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

With the bottom end of the 1100 she is bullet proof

Yeah well if you don't count the dodgy second gear cog, the alternator coupling and the SRAD 750 clutch...

She's a hard road finding the perfect bike mate.

Just out of interest, the RF head will go quite nicely on top of the GSXR1100WP motor. Add some SRAD750 cams they go quite well apparently...

Sounds like a lot of farting around

I pulled my Kwaka apart today due to sucking up some crap in the carbs, that was annoying enough

I brought mine a few weeks ago for $4200.
    That was on trade me.
I see the RF in the shops for around $6000 here in Auckland.
Nice bikes much lighter then the ZXR.... Just not as fast.
If you are behind meDont ask as I am lost too.

Given the motivation to tidy up the carbs and clearances etc RF's can and do go as fast if not faster than ZXR's...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

I feel your pain. I'm still lusting after an XR1200R.
