    The perfect bucket track

If a bucket racing track was to be built in Wellington what would you the track to have?

A hill like MG corner (Phillip Island) A corkscrew ( Laguna Seca) a blind Fast right hander (dingle dal Brands Hatch) fast downhill sweepers (Craner Curves Dollington Park) tight infield section (Sachsenring) and all of Roys Hill and Kaitoke I think that should do it.
It's not what you ride but how you ride it!!

    +1
Just to add something a bit more mrkin to the mix, a banked section with a fast decreasing radius entry into the infield, ala Daytona.
Oh and the mountain jump at Cadwell Park!

Edit: Fuck! this track would end up quite long, probably still fit into a smaller space than Ruapuna B track though!

Hmmm,...I like what everyone had said here.

Donnington Park wee jump down the straight, Laguna's corkscrew, Phil Island's fast flat out right-hander after the straight, errr...actually, Kaitoke with a little of Roy's Hill in there.

    .

But it would be wrong to spoil a good track like that by having it in Welly, better build it in Dorkland where it will be appreciated properly.

When we raced the Turners and Growers carpark in Grenada North one of the layout directions had an off chamber slightly down hill 90 degree right hand sweeper. Top gear(Slipwayish gearing) was hooked just at the entry and the throttle held open all the way through, my bike would just be starting to lose rear grip at the exit and start to get power ocillations (like a big V-twin does when scrabbling for traction).
Could we have that corner please?

If we do build this track we'll have to hide it (from Auckalofans) and whatever the layout is it's should suit big heavy beam framed four strokes.

A Brooklands type banking for a "flat in top section"
"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough power."

Doesn't the B-track do that for you? Just tilt your head slightly, you could have 30 or 45 degree banking depending on how flexible your neck is

I personally would like a 300 m straight, into a sweeping corner straight into a tight 'S' bend, followed by a 100 m straight with a jump at the end followed by a couple of sweeping corners then back down the 300 m straight.

With some sort of wind breaks...

    Wind breaks?

You'd need coffee breaks with straights that long

Hey I still want to ring every ounce of oily sweat out of my bike before dumping it through a couple of corners. So maybe not a 300 meter straight but at least 200 metres.
Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.

    snot cars

theres a few free downloads for making up race tracks for slot cars, they are well worth playing with for track ideas or if you plan on winning the lottery.
